The speed that provided Mundine with his career best win, against Green in 2006, has completely deserted him. Hatley made him look even slower than Geale did a few years back.Lairdy wrote:Age has finally caught up with "The Man" I think. I do believe he's got busted elbows, but only fought for the $$$ and the slight hope he'd win for his fans. I couldn't believe what I was watching. He dead set looked like he hadn't been training at all. Hatley - a C class world fighter - made him look every bit his age. If he can't get injuries sorted and a decent training camp for a Green rematch... Fanny could beat him bad. That would be the worst thing for Australian boxing.Like a Boss wrote:Mundine did not look or sound confident going into the fight. The characteristic unshakeable confidence replaced with pre-fight excuses of injured elbows and the hip injury. He's shot and he knew it before the Hatley fight. Getting knocked down repeatedly, like he did against Clottey, was only further proof of what he had already come to realize.Lairdy wrote:I really hope a rematch doesn't happen as early as May, 2016. Mundine won't be big enough. I also hope to never see the "Anthony Mundine" that fought Hatley again. That was scary. We'll be waiting at least 12 months for a decent rematch, if it happens. I would love to see Choc just retire and leave Fanny and his fans sulking.

Fenech does not give a stuff about Mundine, particularly since he bankrolled Mundine for the fight against Mosley that never happened and lost a cool half mil in the process.
Fenech plainly has an axe to grind with both Mundine and Green and I see Fenech's cry for boxing authorities to abort a possible Mundine vs Green rematch as little more than vindictiveness.

Brayd Smith and Davey Browne were tragedies Mundine is fighting at a charity benefit for his family hopefully when he sees Davey's widow and orphaned kids he has a rethink.

Fenech started out sounding genuine stating this fight cannot go ahead because of the weight difference these day's being so far apart Jeff should
just stick to the fact's and stop trying to be Nostradamis and predicting who'll get killed the size difference is the issue nothing else Green is as shot
as Mundine I know by listening to Fenech who he has the most hate for between the two Fenech might do a back flip when he hears what his old mate Greenie is calling him...............Maradonna little brother

Re: Mundine could be killed in Green rematch, warns Jeff Fenech
Finally got around to watching Mundine v Hatley.
Wow.
Third straight fight that Mundine has taken a beating..................the level of opposition keeps going down but beatings keep coming.
I thought moving up in weight would be a good idea but now I think it would merely result in getting beaten up by a bigger man.
When Mundine was dominated and beat up by Clottey it could be dismissed as getting ambushed by former world champion. After that Mundine put together a stirring performance to edge Segey Rebchenko. It was a great performance and win for him but lost in all that was the fact that he absorbed a lot of punishment to get that win.
Then the Hatley debacle.
Hatley is a club-fighter who will get dismantled and stopped if he ever steps in the ring with legitimate world class competition but he dominated Mundine from start to finish.
The fight reasonably should have been stopped in the second round, allowing it continue just proved the first two rounds were no fluke and it's time for Mundine call it a career.
I used to like the idea of a Mundine/Green rematch even if is just a novelty fight but now I really think Mundine shouldn't be in the ring period.
Time for Anthony to move on to something that doesn't involve taking punches to the head, don't follow in the footsteps of Roy Jones jr.

Mundine's biggest issue is his speed - once his greatest strength - has deserted him.
Geale beat Mundine to the punch round after round in their rematch 3 years ago and Hatley just made him look old and inadequate.

This fight still being talked about and hearing it could happen as early as May/June. That soon would surprise sure me though.

The reality is Mundine and Green have little else left than a rematch and it will pay multiples of anything else they can rustle up.

May is the 10 year anniversary of their first fight. The Ghost vs the bloated goat if it happens that quickly.

Yep you're right matey. Greeny's fight with Konrad was not selling well at all apparently.Like a Boss wrote:The reality is Mundine and Green have little else left than a rematch and it will pay multiples of anything else they can rustle up.

At any weight that doesn't sap Gren he will KO Mundine. But I guess that just means they'll go a third time.

Green did his back. But he is on the mend and the rematch getting closer and closer to a reality by the sound of things.Francis75 wrote:Yep you're right matey. That line was just used by Team Greeny to cover the real reason for the Konrad fight cancellation.Like a Boss wrote:Green did his back. Your line was made up by someone who just likes making things up. Namely yourself.Francis75 wrote:That line was just used by Team Greeny to cover the real reason for the Konrad fight cancellation.Like a Boss wrote:Green did his back. If you want to start a conspiracy theory at least provide something that supports it
