Jack Catterall ready to step up.

Post by psychod1986 »

With only 14 wins,Catterall is already ranked 15 in world,& defended his WBO-intercontinental title,3 times in fashion.Catterall the unbeaten southpaw says he wants to fight for a world title eliminator in 2016 before challenging for a big one in 2017.allegedly mention Mauricio Herrera as target, also Adrien Broner as well.

I'd put Catterall in with either of those and with Lee Beard in his corner he stands a very good chance.

Yeah I could see catterall beating both of them broner or herrera, catterall has a outstanding trainer an catterall has the skills to go along with it as well. The young unbeaten catterall is also very hungry willing to take any title from any fighter.

Ashley Theopane would be a good fight in Manchester or London...

That's a great shout. Need to be an undercard though as can't see them selling.

I said a few weeks ago I'd back him to beat Broner in 12-18 months, his style is all wrong for Broner it would be like Porter-Broner as Jack wouldn't let him rest for 1 minute and he's not small (Broner likes to fight undersized fighters he can outweigh by 20lbs)

He's only 22 no need to rush him. Theophane wont fight him he's after Broner which is a shame as that would of been a good fight.

Catterall v Ryan or Jenkins I'd like to see in 2016. These are tough fights and would give a better indication of potential than the guys he's beat thus far. I can see Catterall v Nurse happening tho

Robbie Davies Jnr is a better 140 UK prospect

How is Robbie Davies, a better prospect than Catterall, when Catterall fought way better competition than Davies,Robbie Davies hasn't beaten anyone yet, only thing Davies has is a high knockout percentage.

Really hope the BBBoC make him mandatory to Nurse.
Then hopefully the two camps can sort it out but it won't be easy with BN and MR

Regardless if u think Catterall is overrated he's still rank 15 in the division & still beaten better opponents than Davies.Until Davies has beaten better opponents,i could think different on your opinion. :box:

Catterall definitely has potential but he needs to get a couple wins over domestic opposition before we start talking about him competing at world level, his next fight is a British title eliminator, if he gets through that he will be mandatory for the Nurse/Limond winner.
If he wins there are plenty of 140 pounders in UK for him to defend against if he wants to win it outright.

Both Catterall and Davies Jr are ready to step up to British level opponents rather than the journeymen they've been facing.

To be fair though, Catterall is facing a semi-decent domestic opponent in Joe Hughes. I'd quite like Davies Jr to face Bradley Saunders and then one of them to face the winner of Nurse vs Limmond. The other can face someone like Hamilton and then the respective winners meet. Kinda make a mini tournament of it.
