Let him have Conlan and Butler on the same night! They might last 4 rounds between them

Have to say I can't dispute this and I quite like Paul Butler as well.Boxing Prospect wrote:Let him have Conlan and Butler on the same night! They might last 4 rounds between them
Just saw the stoppage that kid has ridiculous power those punches didn't even look clean and timing was perfect for the finish just like the Narvaez win.

Inoue is pretty impressive. His punching power is out of this world for his weight division. Cuadras, Arroyo and Conception are next in line for a beating.

Got a feeling this kid will never leave Japan.
And to be fair with that much power and star quality he doesn't have to.
He's unbeatable at super- fly unless a little Nicaraguan moved up.
Now way Fwank sends either Butler or Conlan to Japan.
If he did he'd just get sent a fish back like Luca Brassi.

True lads. Its the effortless golovkinesque way he manages to both produce power without seemingly 'trying' too hard (symptom of being very relaxed?), and time his shots. Just a *nasty* puncher for the lower weights.Naandrew wrote:Have to say I can't dispute this and I quite like Paul Butler as well.Boxing Prospect wrote:Let him have Conlan and Butler on the same night! His team has said they want him to fight in the US, something that was again mentioned today. I think they want Gonzalez on HBO, The Ohashi mentality will almost certainly see them chase it too. Ohashi isn't like Eddie, Bob or Fwank, he tends to follow through on what he saysPredatorHayds wrote:Got a feeling this kid will never leave Japan.

He makes a LOT of money in Japan though.Boxing Prospect wrote:His team has said they want him to fight in the US, something that was again mentioned today. Also 2015 wasn't a good year for the Japanese fighters fighting abroad.

Doesn't look or sound like money is his motivation, history and prestige is. He has set targets and chased them aggressively ("fastest Japanese world champion","Fastest 2 weight world champion") and been open about chasing Gushiken's Japanese record, wanting a bout with "Romagon" fighting in the US in 2016.
Again I trust Ohashi, who spoke in the fall about taking Inoue to the US in 2016.
Might not have been a great year with Iwasa losing, Miura coming up short and Obara getting shafted but Fujioka claimed a huge win in Mexico, Murata claimed a good win and Kono saw his profile grow substantially. Also a lot of the other Japanese guys (Maruta, Wake, Ito, Naito,Obara) all enjoyed their time in the US in 2016 for training and bouts.
Note also that Inoue and Murata are backed by the same TV company and likely know that they could sell future rights if Inoue impresses international tv audiences.

Surely a fight between him and Gonzalez would happen in JapanPredatorHayds wrote:He makes a LOT of money in Japan though.Boxing Prospect wrote:His team has said they want him to fight in the US, something that was again mentioned today. Roman has a Japanese promoter and has had a lot of fights over there

Your right Gonzalez does work with Teiken along with about 2 other promotional teams, including K2 who will likely continue to sell Gonzalez/Golovkin as a double package. For what it's worth he's fought 9 times in Japan, 5 times in the US. Of those bouts over the last 5 years he's actually had 5 in the US and 4 in Japan.Naandrew wrote: Surely a fight between him and Gonzalez would happen in Japan

Worth noting that HBO money however dwarfs what Fuji would to offer and, again, Inoue's aim is to be a global name rather than just a regional one. It's his team who are talking about fighting in the US and chasing a Gonzalez bout, something they spoke about today at a press conference.
The press conference saw them say that Inoue and Yaegashi would be back in action in Japan in May then chase a US bout for later in the year., They again name dropped Gonzalez, and mentioned raising a global profile, likely why the Inoue brothers signed a deal with Horipro recently, who have a base in the US themselves.
Re: Naoya Inoue vs Warlito Parrenas for Inoue's WBO sfw title
In the post fight interview I could hear them mentioning America. Not speaking Japanese it seemed to me that Inoue was indicating that he was ready to fight there. Inoue v Gonza likely to take place in the USA. What a fight that would be.
Another great match up for Inoue is Tete, who inexplicably signed with Warren.
