Team Golovkin MAKES Offer to Billy Joe Saunders

Post by Aaronide_ger »

Frank (Promoter of Saunders) Warren confirmed Team golovkin made a SIGNIFICANT offer for a fight to take place between Golovkin and Billy joe Saunders.

We are awaiting for confirmation whether they will accept it or not. How much money do you believe they offered him?

Can't see saunders going in with golovkin anytime soon. He deserves huge respect if he does fight golovkin but can't see any other result other than golovkin smashing saunders.

Can't see him getting the $1.5m that Lemieux got, so I don't see the fight happening considering the other options Billy Joe has available to him.

I'd like to see that fight quids in and young enough to come again, unless Saunders did the impossible and beat GGG which isn't unheard of by a traveller boxer. :TU:

If Saunders can fight for 12 full rounds like he can the first 6 then he's got a shot of winning.

Saunders will take it IF THE MONEYS RIGHT .. Anyone whop thinks Saunders is scared of GGG is deluded ,, he fought the likes of GGG in the ameteurs FOR FREE .. but to take this fight without earning mega dollars is stupid ,, he can make good money defending his belt against shite opposition and still get paid good money to fight GGG later on . To risk his belt and lose these smaller but plentiful paydays would be absolutly shite management , unless he gets offered a figure too good to be refused .

Is Alvarez's team interested in a Saunders fight?

Interesting that Frank has publicly spoken about the offer - if they had no intention of taking the fight surely they'd be more likely to not mention it unless asked?

He could make more fighting Eubank again, 30,000 in a stadium on PPV taking the bigger end of the split is likely to pay more than a Golovkin fight would for much less risk.

Yea thats what I also thought. They are considering the offer which is probably quite good, fo sure its no $6m that Saunders asks, but im pretty sure its about $2m.. Saunders and his team has to be realistic, they will never make that much money fighting ANYONE except Canelo in the middleweight division.. If he goes on and fights complete nobodies in 2016 he wont even make half of that money GGG offers and if he fights legit top10 opposition to earn more money than fighting bums he will risk losing his belt and the big payday that tripleG just offered..

Doubt the fight will happen but at least its refreshing to hear Warren considering it..

\ Fact that he's mentioned it , sort of suggests he may be trying to force public opinion to sway Saunders . It would be the big fight to force Skys hand with Hearn and all the ppv bollocks .. So all in all Frank might want / need this more than Billy

If I were Saunders, I'd want at least 1.5m sterling to take this at this point. He'd stand next to no chance of winning and would most likely get badly bashed up within 6 rounds which would diminish his stock (in a manner similar to that which has just happened to Lemieux who at least had a punchers chance).

As others have said, I'd look to make a defence first, then the re-match with Eubank Jnr which would be huge and which I think Saunders may well win again and then GGG.

Even if Golovkin KO's him early he can come again, rematches with Eubank or Lee would sell as would a step down to light middle to challenge Liam Smith

We should all be rooting for this fight and better still, rooting for them to get Golovkin over here so we can watch him fight.

No Horse.

I've no doubt Billy Jo would take the fight and I don't believe for one minute he'd be shitting himself, he's a fighting man and he'll fight anyone.

He has no chance of winning though, he would get stopped eventually like everyone else does against Golovkin.

I'd love to see it over here, but as people have said maybe an easyish defence, rematch Eubank and then fight him.

Can't see that Saunders would have any real chance of winning, but I'd like to see it anyway.

Saunders has showed time and again in interviews he has no interest in fighting Golovkin. Only recently has he stated he will fight him if they offer mega money, 4 to 5 million was his estimate, otherwise that fight ia 18 months away in his opinion.

Since boxing is a business it's time for Billy's management to find a reason to decline this fight whilst saving face for their man.

If he gave Eubank a re match and lost hes chances of facing ggg would be next to zero where as if he takes the money and fights ggg he would have the bad blood re match with Eubank to fall back onto. People say about waiting 18 months but whos to say this offer will be on the table in 18 months. Just hope 2016 is the year fights happen and arnt just talked about :bag:
