IT'S OFFICIAL!! Manny vs Bradley 3
http://www.fight hype.com/news/article22923.html
According to multiple reports, 8-division former world champion Manny Pacquiao will face welterweight champion Timothy Bradley on April 9 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pacquiao hasn't fought since losing a unanimous decision to long-time ring rival Floyd Mayweather back in May. It will be his first fight back since undergoing surgery to repair damage to his shoulder that he reportedly sustained in the fight. Bradley, on the other hand, is coming off of an impressive 9th round stoppage of former world champion Brandon Rios.
This will be the third time that the two fighters have faced each other. Although Bradley was awarded a split decision victory after their first encounter back in 2012, most observers agreed that Pacquiao was blatantly robbed of a victory that he clearly won. When they squared off for the rematch two years later, Pacquiao soundly defeated Bradley via unanimous decision. Since that time, however, Bradley has changed trainers and is now working with Teddy Atlas. Though Pacquiao will no doubt be favored to win again, it will be interesting to see if Atlas can make a difference in the rubber match.
"It's a done deal and it's going to be a third fight against Timothy Bradley. We took a lot of consideration knowing Bradley has improved a lot as a fighter since the last time they've met in 2014," Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum informed The Manila Times via phone call.
Well I think Manny took the safest route, he DUCKED all the other worthy challengers who could possibly put him to sleep or soundly outbox him for someone he knows that can't or more than likely won't.
He knew he couldn't risk it with JMM again or Thurman who could possibly put him to sleep with one shot, same as Ruslan nor could he risk being outboxed by Crawford so he took the safest option that will almost guarantee him another win.
Your thoughts??

Seeing TBRB have these fighters at #1 and #2 it's difficult to label this a duck!
Re: IT'S OFFICIAL!! Manny vs Bradley 3
Ring have Kell Brook as their No. 1 welterweight (for God knows what reason), so I assume it won't be for their title.
Re: IT'S OFFICIAL!! Manny vs Bradley 3
Look at this toolbag try to say Manny is DUCKING people by taking on one of the top 10 P4P fighters in most publications. It really goes to show why no one should read a word of what this kid puts out here. He has the balls to write something like this when his hero and FOTY for 2015 went out with a fight against Berto of all people. It's just hilarious. When he's not pulling the race card on someone when he's losing yet another confrontation, he's posting an assgrabber like this one. KBB, KC or whoever he really is, bottom of the barrel in every sense of the phrase.

to a guy that did it practically every other fight since super featherweight?
OK, if you say so...this one is for you Caldo.

Re: IT'S OFFICIAL!! Manny vs Bradley 3
Please, all Floyd did was victory laps while preaching the rules at the same time breaking them... Manny's going to go out with class while taking on a considerable challenge. When they look back at the careers of Manny and Floyd, no one will EVER be knocking Manny for his opposition or they way he conducted himself in and outside of that ring. With Floyd, there's almost more bad than good to remember him for at this point.koolkc107 wrote:So because Floyd took a victory lap once in a 2 decades, he should be comparedcaldo2025 wrote:Look at this toolbag try to say Manny is DUCKING people by taking on one of the top 10 P4P fighters in most publications. Victory lap, give me a break...Floyd never fought a number one contender to his belts his whole career. One big victory lap.

Damn Ricky, you sure are one sensitive little bi@tch!! I never insulted you in any way, shape or form but yet you cannot help yourself when someone tells the truth about your beloved Manny Pacquiao, you sure are one angry tiny man.caldo2025 wrote:Look at this toolbag try to say Manny is DUCKING people by taking on one of the top 10 P4P fighters in most publications. Yes, Manny is ducking and as KoolC mentioned he's made a career out of it; do you remember how he ducked Mosley after Shane flattened MargoCHEATO and then Mosley asked for the fight with Manny and Packy said no unless you go to 142 to which Shane said "ok" but then Manny and Roachie Boy came back saying that Shane was "too dangerous"?
But you don't remember that because I'm just a talking toolbag according to an angry tiny man like you, right??

I disagree, obviously, about Floyd.
Mostly because you heard the bulk of complaining about his opponents AFTER the fights.
The generic profile of a Floyd opponent is a guy, usually with a belt of his own,
coming off either a KO victory or a FOTY candidate victory. That kinda trumps
a number one contender. As a matter of fact, you might want to do a little
research and see just who it was that he was supposed to fight instead of who he actually fought.
My guess is they were not better fights than the ones he chose for the most part.
Before most of the fights Floyd had, there was always a healthy contingent of so called experts telling you why
this was going to be the time Mayweather finally got his arse kicked...yet it never happened.
And not only didn't it happen, but Floyd beat them easily.

Re: IT'S OFFICIAL!! Manny vs Bradley 3
... so it seems like Haymon is trying to work with Arum, wanted to make Pac VS Broner.
If Manny does want to keep fighting, wouldn't it have been better to do it against:
a) a fighter you can look good against.
b) a fighter you are favored against.
c) a fighter that creates BUZZ.
Whatever, Bob does what Bob does ... not knocking Bradley, but we've seen this already,
and most people don't want to see it again.

Re: IT'S OFFICIAL!! Manny vs Bradley 3
All jokes aside...for a second anyway.
Besides Floyd and JMM, name one person above 135 who has been more
competitive with Pac than Timothy Bradley.
Would I have picked this fight? No.
I would have picked Cotto in a rematch at 154.
But this is far from a bad fight- Tim was dead even with Manny halfway thru the last one.
And, I for one, want to see what Tim and Teddy come up with strategically and as far as conditioning.

Re: IT'S OFFICIAL!! Manny vs Bradley 3
marquez flatten pac 3 years ago, and pac has been trying to get that fight
made ever since. marquez has only fought twice since then, a fair decision loss
to bradley and a decision win over alvarado about a year and a half ago.
is marquez even still working out at all? how can you duck retired guys?

Strange match making? Pac-man probably needs to retire instead of going over old ground I think he is done and dusted now and ripe for the taking once and for all.

I am more interested in what happens in between rounds in this fight. Teddy vs Freddie
Re: IT'S OFFICIAL!! Manny vs Bradley 3
You can rationalize things, come up with explanations and some of them will probably be true.
But the bottom line is this:
Bradley has done two things Pac couldn't do.
He knocked out Rios and he owns a clear undisputable victory over JMM.
There isn't anyone active (unless JMM is still around) who deserves this fight more.

Re: IT'S OFFICIAL!! Manny vs Bradley 3
I'll watch it.
But with Pacquiao at 2-0 v Bradley what are we doing here ... only the 1st fight was controversial because Pacquiao got ripped off.
Bradley is a solid opponent even for Pacquiao but I'm thinking Pacquiao will have more than enough in terms of strength, power and speed.
Not underestimating Bradley because his drive smarts athletic ability and conditioning on full pull is good.

But if it isn't Floyd or JMM, or a bigger guy like Canelo and now Cotto,
who else can you say "I guarantee this will be a good fight"?
Crawford, who is a year or so past Gamboa making him do the stanky leg?
Thurman, who faded badly late against Guerrero?
Khan, who either goes to sleep or reels around drunkenly when he gets hit solid?
Who?
No, I am not complaining.
And unlike Floyd's last, the opponent here is a very live dog.
One I am predicting to take a big wet bite out of Catfish...

If I recall correctly Manny was somehow thinking he was deserving of the bigger purse by a guy who knocked his head into orbit around Saturn and that's one of the main reasons the fight never happened.sucracristo wrote:marquez flatten pac 3 years ago, and pac has been trying to get that fight

Thank God it didn't happen, Marquez has totally owned Manny IMHO and no need for a 5th fight because next time he might just knock Packy's head off its' shoulders.
Still the bottom line is that not one person really wanted to see this fight, I will watch it but not pay for it just out of curiosity and hoping that it backfires on him for picking the safest opponent.

I share the same opinion that Lampley has when it comes to Floyd and his legacy. Getting caught with that IV and then double backing with the testing agency's assistance to get approval after the fact has to call his whole career and years of victories into question. As a Floyd fan, you tried hard to minimize and legitimize it but you failed. You tried hard but never got close.koolkc107 wrote:At least you have a sense of humor.caldo2025 wrote:I do like that picture though..haha.caldo2025 wrote:

It didn't matter who Floyd signed on to fight, we all threw out hats in their corner hoping that they would be the one to finally shut the bully up. We'd go back and forth trying to find a way in which we could conceive this opponent beating Floyd. It was never Floyd's toughest possible opponent but we backed them and got into the fight anyway for the possibilities.
We thought "any given Sunday" and anything could happen. But we never realized just how tilted the tables were in Floyd's favor in multiple ways. It was almost impossible for Floyd to lose now that we look back at it. The only way he could lose is by knockout...that's the only possible way. And it showed in Floyd's style in the ring and his focus on avoiding action.
I think that's why people are so easily forgetting your boy.

I ill not pay for this.I will either wait for the HBO replay or find a stream.
This fight has very little interest to me. Pac has beaten him twice already.

Jeez give the guy a break, look at Mannys last 20 or so fights its like a whos who of the lighter weight classes with the weakest name probably being Algeri so I think he has earned the right to face who he chooses at this point.

Not exactly an easy fight anyway.
