The only hope is that De Mori claims to have been training in his dad's garage as a self-taught boxer at the time. He says that he's improved a lot since then, and given his ranking, I'm willing to believe him.

He looks like a club-level star in the available footage. The sort of guy who beasts through white-collar events but comes unstuck contesting a recognised belt. I quite like him, though, and I wish him well in this one.

This is Mark v Leapai 11 years ago. Yes it is Leapai's debut and yes it is Marks 5th fight since turning pro 5 months previously.

Since then Leapai worked a full time job, trained when he could and managed to beat Boytsov in Germany and landed a world title shot against Klit. Yes it was too big of a step and he got made look average.

Since then Mark has trained full time, 5 days a week, spent time in the King training camp and travelled the world working with different trainers and living boxing 24/7. Yes Haye may also make Mark look like a 'club fighter'.

Since then I've also seen Mark spar Browne who is also fighting for a title in 2016.

Haye may be too big of step, but have no doubt Mark knows his strengths and weaknesses v Haye and will do everything he can to make this a fight he can win.

Mark has devoted his his life to boxing waiting for this chance. There is no way Haye wants this more than Mark.

Haye is amazing when he is 100% and committed but if any other version of Haye turns up on the 16th don't be surprised if it's the last time you see him in the ring. If you have a few spare $$$ laying around come fight night have a look at the upset. The odds are hugely inflated.

Hope both fighters walk away with no long term injuries and everyone enjoys the show.

I can not wait.

I'm sorry man, if De Mori wanted this that much then what has he been doing fighting the appaling level of oppo he has been in with since his sole loss eleven years ago? His last oppo was stopped by Fury in his second pro fight as 20 year old and had lost 12 of his last 15 fights - all by stoppage!

You almost had me. But I looked at his videos again. Yes he can punch at a certain level. But Haye's chin has been sturdy at heavyweight.

And De Mori is aggressive but holds his chin high, his left low, looks way shorter than his listed 6ft 2, isn't fast and doesn't look like a natural boxer.

The perfect comeback opponent for Haye. Great record. Looks the part. Muscular. But Haye will take him out in a round or two.

I get it mate. I've gone through that so many times over the years I'm done with trying to explain it. The simple answer is, it's pro boxing and it's insane.

I'm also not saying Mark should be favorite or anything, Haye should win this, no doubt. If he's anything like the old him and gets serious again he will be world champ.

However first fight back and if it doesn't go his way early, I think he's going to wish he'd picked a different fighter for his comeback opponent. I'm not sure Haye wants or is ready for a dirty war after 3.5 years off and Mark has been waiting for such a chance his whole life.

Absolutely unimaginable how this has slipped under the radar, I just cannot fathom, how a retired Cruiserweight who hasn't boxed for nearly 4 years and fighting a boxer that got demolished in 1 round by the legendary Light heavyweight John Wyborn? isn't in the national newspapers and PPV. It is Strange?

I have a feeling this is part of the marketing strategy. If you aren't sure if you'll be able to see the fight on TV, there's more chance of you buying a ticket.

Can only assume it's on Sky as he's had quite a lot of coverage on their news channel so far. They had their cameras in his gym Xmas day. I'll certainly watch it if it's on but I won't lose any sleep if it's not.

Were his cameras filming Frampton? I know they were Quigg on Christmas Day.

Seems like YouTube is the likely route.

This is good for British boxing. YouTube obviously has a number of algorithms to show targeted content to every user, and I would bloody love it if there were an official YouTube Boxing channel. And if they want to appeal to a few million more? Extend the algo to anyone who watches sport videos in general. The logo can turn into a red glove and a black glove, curious users click on it to see a promo video.

Remember, Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) has existed for less than a year and look how well that has taken off. Anyone with an internet connection could watch a YT fight, without the need for an expensive satellite sports package. No need to use streaming boxes because even premium content would cost a tiny amount rather than the stripy-vested satellite PPV model. So the consumer won't feel like they've been exploited. YT could appeal to 3m users at £2.50 a time rather than 200,000 begrudgingly paying £17 :bag:

What is the YouTube best definition though? I mean I assume definition will not be as good as normal (not even HD) Tv? I know you can hook up your PC to your TV but I'm fairly sure the majority either can't be bothered or don't know how.

I do think this may well be the future of audio vision, certainly for more niche offerings... But the timings has to be right.

Funnily enough, many years ago, before broadband, I believe Frank/Kellie Maloney did the first (at least Uk) internet boxing broadcast of one of his shows... But it didn't work as too few were knowledgeable about the web and everyone had dial up at that stage and it wasn't fast enough. Like boo.com, the fashion store disaster that was 'ahead of its time' technologically but the customer base wasn't there at the time due to lower internet usage and low technology offering at the customer end.
