Should Terry Norris be ranked higher on the pound for pound list

Post by psychod1986 »

Norris defened his wbc super welterweight title 10 times before his defeat to Simon Brown,& also winning it back by beating him with a solid decision, but lost it again by being disqualified in the two Luis Santana fights, for a low blow & hitting after the bell.Norris won his title back ,in the 3rd fight by knocking Santana out in the 2nd round, after that Norris gain the Ibf title as well as the wbc title & defended it 6 more times, with all wins.I personally think Norris should be ranked as high as Sugar Ray Leonard,He also beaten Leonard as well and in fashion. No, he actually gets the utmost talent evaluation for a fairly shallow resume.

Wasn't full of prime "names" but was solid as hell, we were lucky to have him

I was a huge fan, but his ledger isn't historic. I think I overrate him historically. Excellent fighter, thrilling fighter, all his best names were past it.

No, hell no! Too many legendary champions are in front of him to be in the mantle with the greats

Definitely yes, if we consider his boxing proficiency: no, if we consider only his career achievements.

Gerald McClellan, Mike Tyson, Terry Norris, and Kelly Pavlik, are among the boxers I know that deserve a higher place in the usual ranks, but couldn't achieve that because of their own troubles.

Floyd Jr., Calzaghe, and Marciano, are also usually underrated: Floyd Jr. and Calzaghe because of their brittle bones not so many know about, and Marciano because "he fought oldies and bums" (oh boy, here we go again...).
