Next For Amir Khan?

Post by wesshaw1985 »

with nothing lined up currently for Amir, who should he face next?

I'd love to see Khan vs. Brook in the summer, a build up fight vs. Lamont Peterson in the US on the same night as a Brook fight in the UK beforehand would be ideal...

Yes, Peterson and then Brook for me.

If he beats both of those two then a first defence against Garcia.

No idea who he fights next. I feel like I'm in the minority who actually want to see Khan do well but he really doesn't help himself. Other than the Mayweather fight and the unrealistic Manny fight he has shown literally no desire to get in the ring and fight, only 1 fight last year and just 4 in the last 3 years with none against truly world class fighters. I think someone like Lamont Peterson will be his next fight (unless the Brook fight is finally made).

His and his teams egos would never allow that to happen.

Cesar Cuenca,2KOs in nearly 50 fights and just coming off losing his title

make more sense for him to fight in the US on the same night as Brook, show both on Sky.
They both call each other out, after they hopefully win, and hey presto...

I think Amir wants to get away from Haymon personally - I wouldn't be surprised to hear soon that he's stuck in a legal dispute hence the no news of a next fight.

Does anyone else not wish Brook would tell Khan to do one?

Its getting a bit tired now and Amir's had plenty of chances,Kell and Camp Eddie are starting to get a bit like that bird who wont take the hint,Brook's the champ i wish he would start acting like one

Hearns whispering in his hear to keep him away from Al Haymon I reckon, promising him big money for the Khan fight...

No. Who is Brook going to fight instead? Eggington?

Brook doesn't seem interested in taking on anyone decent apart from Khan. It's Khan or nothing.

Thoughts on Fr@nk W@rrens offered to work with Khan again, maybe Khan vs. Skeete as the co-main to BJS vs. Eubank jr 2 on Sky PPV from the 02 arena?
I would imagine it would be a decent pay day for an easy fight...

There's about a dozen fighters who can fight Brook next as far as im concerned, ive always been a massive fan of Khan and i love his style but not only has he acted a twat in the last 2 years,he hasnt learned his lesson, now he's just gonna cash in despite this fight being in demand for a while now,Brook is a fighter who i rate very highly but apart from Porter his resume's weak,in saying that he's a world champ,he has something that Khan is after

Amir has made a tit of himself by constantly harping on about Mayweather over and over,i get that he wants the fight but so does everyone round about they weight classes but you dont hear them blab on and on about Floyd and them having the style to beat him and that Floyds ""scared " of them,Khan has wasted his best years on hold by waiting like a lap dog on Mayweather ,have some respect for yourself Amir jeez,as i said Brook's starting to peev me now too by acting like that to Khan

I want to see Brook/Khan too but id rather they'd stop the flirting and get on with it,fact is Khan was offered the fight,he refused so therefor Kell should move on and maybe Khan will come abegging

Brook is moving on... to fight Kevin Bizier.

If Brook doesn't get Khan then he'll just be moving on to more Dan Ions and Senchenkos.

The only big payday left for Khan is Brook, there seems no conceivable reason why he won't now finally fight him.

He could fight Frankie Gavin as a half respectable tune up fight I suppose.

Im dreading Brook/Bizier too if im honest,i didnt mind the Chaves fight and was hoping it would get rescheduled

Thurman,Garcia or Spence Jr would be great but after beating Bizier,Dan will be mandatory again by then

Chaves would have been a respectable opponent at the time. To reschedule it after the Bizier fight would suggest a major lack of ambition from Brook and his team though.

I think Brook will be allowed a voluntary defence before the Dan Ion rematch.

Dan rematch? Why? I thought Bizier was his mandatory and then he was free to fight who he wants? Not sure how Dan would get himself back into a mandatory position ahead of the likes of Spence or Porter.
