Past prime Lennox vs Tyson Fury

Post by conty22 »

Lennox from 2003 , over 250 pounds vs Tyson Fury.

Do you think FURY wins this the same way he did against Wladimir?

Fury is huge. He'd outbox Lennox from range.

Lennox is very overrated. Behind to Vitali ON ALL CARDS before cut stoppage, knocked out by Rahman who was leagues below the Klitschko's.

Memory plays tricks.

Fury points, comfortable.

You can't hit what doesn't present opprotunities for you to hit. Fury proved that with Klitschko. Tall, rangy, fast, unorthodox methods of fighting---- I think the Lewis who battled with Vitali---- would have had some issues with Fury. We're not talking about the Lewis who fought Mercer, Holyfield and Morrison here, but rather the older, slower, plodding version. I'll give Lewis this much in credit, that he was more fluid and aggressive than Klitschko---- but he also demonstrated in that fight with Vitali was that he was behind on the scores, and he was gassing out fast. If Fury can make it through the first three-four rounds, the longer the fight goes the more it benefits him. And I think Fury, against that version of Lewis, would win on points.

Rahman won against Corrie Sanders and Ross Purrity , those two guys sparked Wladimir out.

Rahman has much better resume than Buster Douglas as well haha

Rahman was average. Run this poll again in ten years time and you'll get totally different results. It is fashionable to big Lennox up now but it wasn't at the time. In ten years time the Klitschko's will be mote highly rated than they are bow for a start.

Anyone judging Wladimir on the Sanders performance is stupid, no offence.

Lewis from 92-2003 beats any version of Fury we've seen so far, and any version we'll probably ever see.

Because people have short memories and time clouds their judgement.

Actualy Lewis came in his worst shape ever against Vitali Klitschko and he still managed to destroy his face. Prime Vitali is 10x better than Fury or Wladimir . Last round was big for Lewis , he landed some huge shots and Vitali was only hugging.

Lewis also lost first 3 rounds against Bruno , Briggs and many others and he still managed to destroy them in late rounds.

Those are facts . Vitali had his face destroyed and it was not only because of one lucky punch . He had more than one cuts on his face and he was done in last round . All he did was clinch and eating uppercuts

Well just so you know, cards are an irrelevance when a fighter brutalises another's face to the point where the doctor stops it.

How does Tyson beat Lennox out of curiosity?

If Lennox lost three rounds against Bruno that speaks volumes. Bruno makes Joshua look fluid.

Fury boxes from range and moves much like he did against Wlad and Lewis doesn't get to him.

It's easy to say so and so does this and that but when Tyson is four inches taller and boxes to his strengths he's going to be bloody difficult for anyone to beat. Since he had the absense via Haye pulling out he's come back a completely different boxer to what he once was yet people can't shrug off their prejudices.

Lol Mike Tyson lost against Buster Douglas when he was young and in very good shape.

Lewis in his worst shape and already past his best destroyed Vitali's face and landed big bombs on him.

There is a difference between Vitali and Douglas . One of them is just a random bum and second is HALL OF FAME FIGHTER

Prejudices?

So he keeps him off with that jab and no power right hand? Akinwande and Grant were both taller than Lewis, he had more trouble with shorter fighters. A fighter with zero power who can't keep Lewis honest would be an easy days work for him. Lewis would beat Tyson inside 6.

Where has this worst shape stuff come from? There is no concrete evidence whatsoever that this is the case. Once again it is something just lodged in minds.

Rahman lost every second when he fought Wlad and was beaten up, knocked down and stopped. Rahman got his ass kicked by John Ruiz and ancient Holyfield - exactly the same version of Holyfield that was completely dominated from pillar to post by former MW/SMW James Toney and Chris Byrd. And Rahman was KTFOed twice by very slow glass-jawed B-level fighter in Oleg Maskaev. Rahman is 1:1 against Lewis and 0:2 against Maskaev. So according to your logic Maskaev is better than Lewis :D

Lol anyone who fallowed Lewis knows that he was much faster and better in his prime than in his last fight.

He was much better boxer than overrated Wladimir Klitschko , who got exposed by Tyson Fury.

Fury is league behind Vitali and Wladimir was not able even HIT HIM OMG. He was no able land some bombs.

If there was someone overrated , it was Wladimir !
