Minter fighting Uzan

Post by jomothepure »

It's on the boxrec schedule (for the Skelton-Williams card BTW)

For the EU title. A comfortable victory for Minter IMO.

It's good to see that it's for a ''genuine European title'' as I read somewhere that minter would be fighting for the NEW vacant EBA title, which is a European title that the WBA have created - yet another Mickey Mouse title! , apart from that it's good to see Minter progressing, wonder if he will ever fight Mutley, that would be a cracker!

So what is the EBA? I thought it was affiliated in some way to the WBA?

EBA used to be a part of WBA, back then it was called WBA International. They then wanted to call it an European title, WBA wouldnt allow it. Due to some politics they are now run seperatly and WBA Intercontinental are now tun by WBA. A fighter that holds an EBA title cant fight from EBU titles. EBA officials are also banned from be officials in EBU fights.

The EU title is in itself pretty micky mouse, it is the EBU title which is the 'proper' European title.
