Well I think you are missing the point, I'm asking you who Rosairo beat in his career that supports your claim that he could have beaten Dejesus and you keep going on about his power, ...Duran if he had fought the same opposition as Rosairo would have gone through it even quicker, Durans opposition was several notches above Rosairos!...
If you can't answer a straight question give it up....

Right.

I never said Rosario would stop DeJesus. I never said Rosario would stop DeJesus before Duran did. I never said Rosario would beat DeJesus. Infact, I never even made a prediction. What I did say, is that it is not ridiculous to think Rosario, a one-punch knockout artist, could defeat DeJesus quicker than Duran, an attritional swarmer, did.
Duran was undoubtedly a greater puncher and fighter than Rosario, however Rosario contained more power. Whether Rosario was beating top competition or not, it doesn't matter - he was bombing these guys out. I've seen Duran take on the same quality fighters and take longer to knock them out.

Who did Bob Foster ever knock out, apart from an ageing Dick Tiger? Would you say Archie Moore contained more raw power than Foster, because he beat the better guys?

When did Duran take on the same quality fighters and take longer than Rosairo?.... Rosairos opposition was fairly poor in comparison to Durans...
Whats Bob Foster got to do with it?.... Foster knocked out Rondon, Depaula, Quarry, Finnegan... all very good boxers... Tiger was hardly washed up when he fought Foster and went on to beat Benvenuti and give Griffith another good fight... you might as well say who did Rocky Marciano knockout?... his opposition was no better than fosters and he only made 6 defences....
And you still haven't told me who Rosairo beat other than Bramble?.... nost of the other top fighters he met he went the distance with or stopped late on in fights... Duran was a bigger puncher than Rosario...

Jesus Christ man. You're just digging yourself a bigger hole. You're now telling me Rocky Marciano beat no better opposition than Bob Foster!

We are leaving it here, or rather I am, because I don't have time to waste with a man who cannot stick to the point in hand, and who cannot grasp the basic logic that is punching power. You've gotten me so confused and tired I don't even know what I'm talking aboudafredggenditdefwds...

I suppose Rosario was a bigger puncher than Duran???..
Yes. And by more than a little. If Duran had as much power as Rosario, he would have killed several of his opponents with the amount of punches he would land on them. Dejesus had the style to trouble Duran, especially with the way he threw the left hook. I believe he would have been an easy mark for Rosario's right hand.
Dejesus was as fast as both Davis and Comatcho and had better power and was a far better all round boxer.....
No way was Dejesus as fast as the lightweight Camacho. Very few if any fighters in history were.

But boxing is not a track meet... Dejesus is in a different league to Comatcho... it takes more than running away non-stop to be a great fighter!.... if you'd seen any of his fights you'd know what I'm talking about...

On the contrary. You think Duran hits harder than Rosario. You spell Camacho "Comatcho." You think Rocky Marciano's competition was no better than Bob Foster's. You think Benny Leonard hit harder than Rosario. And you're telling me I don't know what I'm talking about.

You stated clearly that Dejesus was as fast as Camacho and that is what I commented on. Adn yes Ive seen Dejesus fight. If you ever saw a prime Camacho fight you would know that he didnt just run around the ring as you imply. Camacho at his best was better than Dejesus.

Good day.

Picking out spelling mistakes seems to be a last resort as you cannot provide any solid answer to my main question which was what did Rosairo ever do that showed that he could have beaten Dejesus?.... a simple question really!.... why does it confuse you so much?...
You brought up Bob Foster!... so why not discuss Marciano too?.... Fosters opposition is no worse than Marcianos and he was champion for longer and made more defences!. Jersey Joe Walcott was the same age as Tiger, if not older when Marcinao beat him, but I suppose he was in the first flush of his peak while Tiger was washed up eh!??.
As for Benny Leonard didn't you know that he had a knockout punch?.... try looking at his record, try reading about him!... it seems your knowledge only goes as far back as edwin Rosario.
Arguing in circles doesn't hide the fact that your knowledge of boxing is extremely poor....

He never said Rosario could beat Dejesus.

Rosario was a scary puncher. He crushed people with single shots all through his career.

Duran could hit very hard as well, but you only need to watch the two of them fight to see Rosario hit harder.

Think what you want. From your comments its obviously to me you never saw much of prime Duran or Rosario. Also the fact that you believe prime Camacho was nothing but a runner.
As for Benny Leonard didn't you know that he had a knockout punch?.... try looking at his record, try reading about him!... it seems your knowledge only goes as far back as Edwin Rosario.
How many of Leonards ko victories have you watched? Which ones were of the one punch variety and which were from an accumilation of punches?
Which ko's were especially impressive or devastating to the point that makes you believe he hits harder than Rosario?
He never said Rosario could beat Dejesus.
For the record, Im the one who believes Rosario beats Dejesus.

If you can't answer my question don't waste my time... redirect yourself to some decent boxing literature and some fight videos and you may learn something, your remark regarding Leonard shows all I need to know about your boxing 'knowledge'... :TU:

I cannot say that DeJesus was overrated as a lightweight. He had ONLY 5 defeats, 2 of those defeats were at 135, losing to the greatest lightweight in history, which is nothing to be ashamed of.

The other losses of Esteban were at 126 (Antonio Lopez), Antonio Cervantez (at 140) and Saoul Mamby at 140 being past his prime.

And certainly, I cnnot see Esteban losing to Arguello. He was very slick. Arguello had problems with slick fighters, and fast fighters that had great footwork like DeJesus. We all forget that Arguello lost at 135 vs Vilomar Fernandez, a slick Dominican, back in 1978. DeJesus would've beaten Arguello on points. This was not Alexis' best weight. Alexis' best weight was feather and jr ligthweight.

DeJesus vs Rosario...Same story...DeJesus by decision

DeJesus vs Camacho...DeJesus by decision...I cannot see a Camacho beat a fighter with DeJesus movement.

DeJesus vs Chavez...A very competitive fight...Esteban speed would confuse the great Mexican, but by round 10, Esteban could not cope with the pressure...Chavez by late KO in a spectacular contest with extreme body blows that DeJesus would've not handle.

Esteban was great lightweight, but he ran in vs the best 135 pounder in history...What a BAD LUCK.

Oh!!! I forgot with Withaker vs DeJesus.

Speed ve speed.

But Whitkaer would have had the edge in boxing cleverness... WHITAKER ON POINTS... Whitaker was strictly WORLD CLASS!!! :TU: :TU: :TU:

I'm not saying DeJesus was as good as Duran, since he lost 2 out of 3 to him by KO, but what I do find interesting is that if you took all of Duran's title defenses at LW, and replaced him in those bouts with DeJesus, it's a sure bet Esteban wins all of them as well. Though in fairness, with fewer KO's.

i dont see what bob foster beating as good competition as rocky marciano has to do with roberto duran hitting harder than edwin rosario silkov? :-?

for what its worth, i hold wins over ezzard charles, archie moore, jersey joe walcott over wins over dick tiger, chris finnegan, and mike quarry.

O and edwin rosario did hit harder than roberto duran. however, duran was the greater puncher.

earnie shavers hit harder than joe louis, but louis was the greater puncher. get it?

No I don't get it mate and don't need to get it from you either, if I need your rather arrogant advise I'll ask for it, ...I know you think that the sun shines out of Rockys arse but I don't, get it!!?...
Also your descriptions of fighters that hit hard yet are not great punchers makes me think you skipped too many English lessons mate!....

Also Brockton you've never answered my question as to why Marcinanos win over Walcott is so impressive while Fosters win over Tiger isn't?.... even though Tiger went on to put on some more good performaces including a win over Benvenuti??....

fosters win over tiger is very impressive, including the manner in which foster beat him. however i hold the walcott win over the tiger win because walcott was a natural heavyweight and is generally rated in the top 20 heavyweights of all time, while tigers best weight is middleweight and tiger is usually not considered a top 20 light-H of all time. tiger was a very good light-H, but not a great one. however, both wins are very impressive. i never said the tiger win was not impressive.
