Missing In Action: Where are the following boxers?
Do these guys need better promoters?
Andrey Fedosov (had his best win in May, winning ESPN tournament, but hasn't fought since and has nothing scheduled)
Sergey Rabchenko (last fought in May, had another long period of inactivity in the past)
Petr Petrov (last fought in April, his only fight since winning ESPN's tournament in 2014)
Mikey Garcia (top talent in his prime kept inactive by unscrupulous promoter)

It's upsetting not seeing Mikey Garcia. He was well on his way to becoming a top p4p fighter.

For sure, he has great skills. I would've love to see him and Crawford rematch now at this stage of their careers.Impractical Poster wrote:It's upsetting not seeing Mikey Garcia. He was well on his way to becoming a top p4p fighter.

He had amateur wins against Danny Garcia, who went on to win the WBC and WBA super lightweight titles, Mikey Garcia, who went on to win the WBO featherweight and junior lightweight titles, and current lightweight contender Diego Magdaleno.

Yeah I read that on his BoxRec bio too, you said Crawford fought Mikey Garcia though which I found no evidence of.Undefeated49-0 wrote:Larrylefthook wrote:When did Mikey Garcia fight Crawford?Undefeated49-0 wrote:

Re: Missing In Action: Where are the following boxers?
Mikey Garcia is one of the biggest wasted talents I can remember, his best years are passing him by without a fight, let alone a meaningful one. Shame, he could have become a huge star.

Yeah, he wins a tournament, then disappears, very strange. He looked very much improved.

Re: Missing In Action: Where are the following boxers?
Mikey Garcia's problem have nothing to do with having a bad promoter. He thinks (thought) he was a bigger star than he was and that he should have been getting paid way more than what he actually deserved. Combine that with Haymon's medling and his own lack of interest in boxing and you have a guy who has completely wasted his prime worse than andre ward.
Re: Missing In Action: Where are the following boxers?
Petrov's waiting on a eliminator for the WBO title, was supposed to be against Liam Walsh in October but Liam hurt his hand and had to have an operation. Could fight Michael Perez but Golden Boy are trying to make a rematch with Fidel Maldonado.
Rabchenko's supposed to be fighting in February. Wake Up Call works for Hatton Promotions, if he sees this he should be able to update us on the situation with Rabchenko.

Re: Missing In Action: Where are the following boxers?
I saw a video of Robert Garcia talking about it I believe with Ellie Sechback (hope I spelled it correctly) and he (Garcia) confirmed it and I believe Mikey has even spoken about it at that same time. I will have to look for it and if I find it then I will post it.Larrylefthook wrote:Yeah I read that on his BoxRec bio too, you said Crawford fought Mikey Garcia though which I found no evidence of.

Go to about the 4:50 mark and listen as Mikey says it'll be a rematch from the Amateurs:

Who is his promoter? Whoever it is, he's not doing a good job.Tony1244 wrote:Andrey Fedosov (had his best win in May, winning ESPN tournament, but hasn't fought since and has nothing scheduled)"""

Really interesting how he told his nephew not to chase him like he did. I don't think we'll ever get to see them rematch though unfortunately after all the shit he's been through with Bob.Undefeated49-0 wrote:This one he goes into detail about the fight:

when someone disappears, that is usually the issue. like when andrade was unexplainably inactiveFreedom2013 wrote:Who is his promoter? turns out rock nation had illegally poached him. ward and many other top guys have had inactivity in
recent years because of promotional disputes.

Rabchenko tomorrow fights an easybeat journeyman who has lost 18 of his past 19 fights!expe wrote:Petrov's waiting on a eliminator for the WBO title, was supposed to be against Liam Walsh in October but Liam hurt his hand and had to have an operation. Hard to believe only 2 fights ago he contested the WBC silver belt.
Re: Missing In Action: Where are the following boxers?
Mikey Garcia also fell out of love with boxing overall. I heard he was training to be a cop. I do not know if that is true or not. He is good at boxing but not in love with the game.
Re: Missing In Action: Where are the following boxers?
Mikey Garcia was a big loss for boxing and had a lot of talent, pity it turnout that way he could have been matched up in some good fights.
Re: Missing In Action: Where are the following boxers?
I don't think he ever really loved Boxing to begin with. He was kinda steered toward it because of how much his family is involved in the sport, but it doesn't seem like it was ever a major passion for him as I understand it. It's something he did for a time because of the money involved. I figure we'll see him fight again at some point, against who or at what level I don't know, but I doubt we've seen the last of him in the ring.Lancenix wrote:Mikey Garcia also fell out of love with boxing overall. Re: Missing In Action: Where are the following boxers?
Garcia has bad case of "Ward"itis. Helluva boxer but think's he's a far bigger star than he is. At least Ward seems to be stepping it up a bit now with Barrera and Kovalev signed, although sure he'll have yet another injury/ issue prior to November.
Re: Missing In Action: Where are the following boxers?
I am not sure we will see him to be honest. Time is harsh and changes things quickly. He really does not love the game and you have to be really into it to do something like boxing. If he does become an officer like some have told me then I do not think he will ever fight again. The Revival wrote:I don't think he ever really loved Boxing to begin with.
