Agree Pavlik at 3 is totally absurd. I'd say Jackson, shavers, g man, foreman and hearns. Devastating punchers. Hamed a huge puncher too.

@psychod1986...it is a bloody good effort mate, although inevitably folk will question who appears where on the list and if anyone has been missed.

I'd throw a cople more names out there for consideration in a (hopefully) helpful way;

John 'The Best' Mugabi hit like hell with 39 stoppages from 42 wins. Not a perfect fighter with a roll-call of big scalps by any means, but he iced people very early and dramatically for many a year. A truly explosive, nasty fighter and hence the moniker.

Corrie 'The Sniper' Sanders. Far from perfect and missing big names on his resume, so just like Mugabi. But flattened blokes and had a serious, explosive power and typically delivered it early. The Wlad beatdown win is often cited but he levelled Bert Cooper, Du Plooy, De Leon, Czyz and Cole inside three rounds. The guy could whack and had single shot power.

I give you credit for making the effort.I just do not agree with the list.
I saw Earnie Shavers a few times in person.I could hear the wind howl when he threw a punch.
The thudding sound of him hitting an opponent was enough to make you cringe.

The most devastating puncher ever in my opinion

That was the first missing name from the list that came to my mind. For some reason Johnson quite often seems to be missed from lists like that.

Wlad, Lewis, Tyson, Duran, Ortiz, SRL, Barkley, Benn, Mcclellan, Toney and Cuevas spring to mind
Toney was not a hard puncher compared to the likes of Benn and Mcclellan.

These type of hard punching list's don't count if Rubin Olivarez isn't up near the Top....... when he won his 1st World title from Aussie Bantamweight Great Lionel Rose his record was something like 52-0-1-50ko's he's final win ko log was 89 win's with 79ko's it makes me laugh when people carry on about GGG whats he's record is it 34-0-31ko's that's not even comparable to Rubin :shame:

And Shavers nowhere to be found lol.
Man what are you talking about Vitali Klitschko knockout percentage is 87% and Earnie Shavers knockout percentage was 76% before retiring. :shame:
Percentages are meaningless.

It's the quality of your opposition; the amount of fights you had & the type of KOs that count.

And Ron Lyle, and Joe Bugner, and Tex Cobb. It's quite the collection of chins that regard the single shot power of the old Acorn.
