Possibly for 8 rounds, but I could see Abraham-Groves going much the same way as Abraham-Taylor.

Abraham hasn't shown that sort of One punch power since, really think Abraham would be Groves' easiest fight for a world title providing he finds the cure to his stamina issues.

Maybe, although he stopped Stiglitz pretty emphatically. I agree that Groves would have a very good chance if he could sort his stamina out, but that's a very big ask.

That opens a wider debate, what can he do to solve it? Is it a genetics thing?, even in the best training camps of there careers fighters still gas, look at BJS against Lee, threw away the last 4 rounds, as to what groves can do to solve it, I'm out of ideas.

Agree with this. I'm intrigued as Groves has the technical ability to cause any super middleweight problems, but his attitude has been questionable.

If he can nail the attitude, he could be a genuine force amongst the elite at 168lb in my opinion. Even though he detested him, even Froch paid compliment to his ability.

As poisonous as it sometimes got before the Wembley fight, upon reflection Carl would be the first to tell you that Groves played a great role in the success of the whole event.

You'd only have to revisit a few threads in the months before to see that even fans were locking horns over every part of it. Even down to "who won" their TV appearances together.

Regardless what our personal opinions are on them as individuals may be, you have to hand it to both of them (especially Groves) for the frenzied build-up.

In closing, I do feel that deep down the whole occasion took it's toll on both fighters, but because Froch got the win, any mental baggage from the build-up was lifted from him on the night. But the loser was always going to lose a piece of themselves and be somewhat broken.

I think Groves needs to a) apologise to Froch for over doing it in the build up, b) accept that it was a great occassion, and there is no shame in losing to a fine champion and c) crack on with his career. He is not without ability, and he just needs to focus now and make the most of other opporunities that will come his way.Would like to see him get on with Froch, and not blame trainers.

Having to hire a crew of doormen for the weigh-in to try and shake up Froch and team plus the Matchroom security lads was all a bit weird too.

That's the truth; the McGuigan partnership is either going to dramatically save George from an ugly, slightly demeaning slide into 'journeymanville' and resurrect/reverse his fortunes or someone will bring it to a very abrupt, bad-tempered halt. I don't see an in-between outcome.

Barry and Shane are both smiley, genuinely nice guys but I have a feeling that away from the cameras they're properly no nonsense merchants when it comes to total commitment and doing things exactly as they see fit and it will actually be George who is on trial with them.

George could do worse than shut his gob, do some quality listening and rebuild with this pair. He's way closer to the end-game than he might realise and as an uncomfortable as it might be; Barry and Shane are arguably the one's taking the punt.

Most interesting partnership by a mile for 2016 for my money; if George has another diva-huff with the very sound McGuigan's we've got our answer.
