I assume the ones who agree with this are doing so purely out of patriotism?

Whilst beating Vlad was certainly a great achievement he did very little & really only won because Vlad did even less.

Far better boxers did far more & managed to do it in exciting fights. Calling him the fighter of the year is a joke.

He put Wlad in his box, that is not doing "very little".

Who did "far more" than Tyson Fury this year? Nobody.

cos he danced and fiddled his way to the heavyweight championship of the world against somebody that was scared to throw a punch , only thing is lots tried and many failed before this so fair play on the win I say, but Ring fighter of the year not remotely near for me .

cant believe ppl actually think he is fighter of 2015. He said himself if he cant beat a guy who is nearly 40 he might aswell hang his gloves up. So people dont think degale's two fight against dirrell and bute, both away from home, wasnt better than fury vs vlad? Or framptons fight in the states? Or postol's stoppage of mattyse wasnt a better performance? Alvarez vs cotto and kirkland? Golovkin vs murray, monroe and lemeiux? All these fighters are leagues above fury's snore fest in germany

He shook up the HW division and made it interesting again (which boxing needs), and did what nobody else had managed for more than 10 years.

Fair play to him.

Joe Gallagher won trainer of the year as well, and Anthony Crolla was named "most inspirational". Decent haul for the Brits.

Obviously there is some c0ck riders on here that dont know the difference between FIGHTER of the year and someone just beating somebody who previous fighters were too small and were beaten before they got to the ring. Iv said my bit on it,as u can see i dont agree with it he wasnt fighter of the year and its no secret the owner of ring magazine,mr de la hoya doesnt like wlad so this is just the icing on the cake for oscar

I thought boxing was meant to be entertaining, for me these fighters were in entertaining fights against good opposition.

I personally did not enjoy the Fury / Klit fight whatsoever and didn't find it entertaining.

Golovkin is the fighter of the year
