In the early 1980s, a Sydney kid with far too much energy and time on his hands was introduced to boxing by a policeman by the name of Pat Jarvis. It was the fork in the road that diverted a young Jeff Fenech away from where he might otherwise have been heading, to becoming famously know as the "Marrickville Mauler" and world titles, wealth and fame.
The wheel has now turned full circle for Jeff Fenech who is now training the nephew of that same policemen, Brock Jarvis.
Jarvis, a super flyweight, is currently in Bangkok, accompanied by Fenech, and preparing for his own pro boxing career.
Fenech says he is keen to train Thai boxers, and with the dearth of super flyweights in Australia, that obviously fits well for Brock Jarvis as well.

Fair to say Fenech kicked off or rekindled many of our interests in the great sport back in the mid 80s.
