Or Khan gets beaten before the fight gets made and then that fight is nowhere near a Wembley sell out. Again, another distinct possibility.

I don't think it sells out Wembley anyway. Maybe in Camp Eddies world, but if you keep an eye on StubHub you might get a bargain if this fight gets made.

Whilst admittedly Lincoln was using this as an analogy for repealing slavery, it is just as suited to Kell Brook's title reign. If retaining the IBF title gets Brook no closer to the big name/big money fights, what's the use of retaining it?

Great quote.

Continuing the theme,

"Hi, Barry Scott here, asking if you have problems with limescale, rust and ground-in-dirt. They're a challenge for some household cleaners, but not, for Cillit Bang! "

If you look deeper into Barry Scott's quote, you will see that this also has a subliminal message relating to Kell Brook's currently situation. Sometimes the best-in-class has a shitty job to do, but as long as they do it perfectly then that's all that can be expected of them. Hopefully one day Brook gets to polish a a chrome knob or two during his reign, amongst the scrubbing of the toilet bowl for IBF skid marks.

On here they were saying that Brook was going to bottle a fight with the absolute beast Shawn Porter. After Brook beat him it was decided that Porter wasn't that good.
Now a poster who joined the forum on Christmas Day claims he's going to bottle Errol Spence. :OhYes:
Your ad hominem attacks have about as much validity as your support for Brook's risk adverse career.

Gavin is a European level fighter for me.
Bizier is just a embarrassment to the IBF.
The IBF are probably the fairest governing body out of the lot.
No they're not. They make too many eliminators with poor challengers and then effectively given them power over their champion. Hence Glazkov could refuse a negotiation period with Fury and force him to vacate. Glazkov drew with Malik Scott and got his mandatory position with a debatable points decision over Steve Cunningham, He now fights Charles Martin for the vacant title and Martin's best win is over Tom Dallas. A joke of an organisation.
Glazkov had been the mandatory with the IBF for ages though. That's not the IBF's fault. Also, wtf were Fury's team doing putting a rematch clause in their contract with Klitschko when they were the mandatory challenger?! That's fornicating idiotic. They should have also been aware of the situation with the mandatory with the IBF.

Khan has been named mandatory challenger for the wbc fight between garcia and guerrero.

He's not going to take the brook fight this year now. he will have another stay busy fight probably on the undercard of that fight and then fight for the wbc.

if khan wins he wont give brook the payday and if he loses the payday probably wont be there.

Option A - Fight Garcia who has knocked you out before for about $1m. If you win great, but if you lose then bye bye a lot of big paydays.

Option B - Fight Brook for probably 5 times that purse.

The thing is though that Khan has already made a lot of money throughout his career. Certainly a lot more than Brook. Also Khan seems more motivated by legacy than financial incentives. For me that's why he primarily wanted the Mayweather and Pacquaio fights rather than the paydays that came with them. I could easily see Khan saying you know what, i'l not fight Brook and lose out on 5 million (or whatever) but in the process Brook wont get a big payday.

No chance. Khan comes across extremely money motivated. If he he was that bothered about legacy, he'd be screaming for the Garcia fight seen as he flattened him in 4.

I'm pretty sure he already has tried getting that rematch but Garcia and his dad wernt interested. Said they didnt need to fight him again as they had already knocked him out.

Frankie Gavin soon went from the best thing since sliced bread to questionable and dodgy because Brook, the bigger and stronger and possibly better man got him out after 5 or 6 rounds.
I wonder if it had been closer would Gavin still be getting so easily dismissed.
When the hell was Frankie gavin since as the best thing since sliced bread? He lost and was knocked down by a 40 yr old Bundu and only just scraped a win against Curtis Woodhouse.

Let's be honest there were still a large number of English posters right up Gavin's world class amateur arse even after he lost to Bundu. I remember because I've never seen anything in Gavin that made me think he could go beyond domestic level and I was always getting shot down for saying it. It's a shame he didn't try hard enough to fulfill the potential some seen in him.

Agreed.

I feel sorry for Brook because he just cannot get a decent fight.

Even the idle Amir Khan can't be bothered to fight him, even though Khan isn't doing much else in the meantime!

I think it is eddie who is holding back with brook. Eddie worked his magic to get Frankie gavin in the voluntary defence. remember Frankie was in line to fight Bradley for the IBF spot, I think Bradley refused it and eddie stepped in and gave him the shot at brook.

a big win win for him as a promotor. Now after injury he is in the mandatory period.

Why not speak to bob arum and put this fight on the undercard of pacman v Bradley 3 with the winner looking at a unification fight at the end of the summer????

I think if manny wins he probably retires unless arum needs him for the TR stable, if Bradley wins it is a decent fight that will draw numbers both in the uk and in the states. But eddie isn't that clever

I think it's called making a fortune. The rematch is by far the biggest money earner out there for Tyson.

Yeah but wouldnt he have been in a far better bargaining position if he didnt sign a rematch clause? He then would have been able to completely dictate the financial terms of the rematch.

Sign with a rematch clause, or risk it going to purse bids and ending up working with Warren who had apparently gone behind your back...
