Little "sweet" Brawl before Wilder/Szpilka fight ^^
Re: Little "sweet" Brawl before Wilder/Szpilka fight ^^
I Hate this sheet where they're touching each other because a guy gets a dislocated thumb and the fights off!
Talk and hype are great, but keep it non physical because I have freaking tickets to this thing.

Wilder seems a bit rattled.
I fancied wilder big for this originally but I've only got it 60/40 in his favour now and narrowing by the day.

Alot of the animosity between them stems from Wilder being close friends with Adamek. He sees himself as avenging Adamek's loss to Szpilka.

I thought it was noticeable that Wilder was glad to be held back, whereas Szpilka would have been happy to let it all hang out then and there.
Definite psychological win there for him, however, this is boxing, not a street brawl, and it doesn't mean he's going to win.

Szpila is nervous bad guy, football hooligan in the past, many times pushing opponents during weigh-in, he also fight against Zimnoch and Włodarczyk out of ring. He must be concentrated in this fight and doesn't allow Wilder to provoke.

Szpilka has a chance of winning, even though he's not a bona fide top 10 heavyweight, because Wilder really isn't very good.
Wilder does have power, height and reach, but that's all. Deontay is not really athletic and he's not a smart boxer like Fury.

Good point. But it shows the fight is more interesting than the original oddsjamesmcdonnell wrote:I thought it was noticeable that Wilder was glad to be held back, whereas Szpilka would have been happy to let it all hang out then and there.

I'm a lot more excited about this fight than I was before the New Year. Wilder still yet to fight anyone of particular note, so could be tested. The only blemish on the Szpilka record is the TKO to Jennings who is still a bit hit and miss in my opinion. Look forward to it!

I thought that

He DOES look like Gavin
This is a case of an athlete (Wilder) against a fighter (Szpilka). Neither one has shown much so far but I'm not one to say they're crap until it's over (thank you Steve Robinson).
Could be a very good little fight while it lasts or it could be over in a round. Tough to say. Which is good.
