Oscar said Canelo 90% and GGG gets 10%, wtf???
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdLgcAN ... ploademail
What type of f*ckery is this?? Is this just greed on the part of Oscar or is it a reason for Canelo to duck out of the fight??
http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/boxeo/n ... de-la-hoya

Oscar probably hopes that he can Price GGG out. I don't even think he wants to take the fight, even for 90%. canelo is not bad but GGG would hammer him badly
Re: Oscar said Canelo 90% and GGG gets 10%, wtf???
Why would GGG not take it?

They're saying in his first ppv event GGG did 150 thousand sales, but Saul has done 350k, 400k and against Cotto, 1 million ppvs.
De la Hoya said the fight will be even bigger down the line and that it will happen.
Canelo said he's ready for it whenever it happens.
Eric Gomez (vice president of GBP) says Saul is deserves to be number one but that he'd like a more "tranquilo" opponent for May due to Canelo having been matched against the toughest opponents lately.

If/when Canelo has his lights punched out by Golovkin, it could spell the end of Oscar as a promoter.

just so you know, Kirkland received 27% of the purse when he faced Canelo ($1.3m) but Golovkin only deserves 10% according to Oscar? What the f#ck?
a 65-35 or 60-40 seems way more reasonable to me.
With a 10% Split Golovkin can make more money fighting other opponents...

I'm not saying he should, but you all think he'll win so why not take less money now to make more in the future as the lineal and recognised middleweight champion.SFW wrote:Why should he?SNG wrote:Why would GGG not take it?

No way. Don't take peanuts or an insulting purse. There's no guarantee of victory. Surely Golovkin will become mandated challenger...if he's not already.
Also how does that work exactly? For example if you offer your mandatory opponent ten pence, who is deemed to be at fault when he says no? Sorry to ask such a basic question!

Anyway you slice it, it's obvious that Oscar is afraid that Canelo will lose and his star will not shine and Triple G will become the #1 PPV king.

Even if he did, there will be something new tomorrow why the fight can't happen like weight, blood testing, ect. How to duck a fight 101

So call them on it and agree and see what comes out next.IKSRTFO wrote:

It is called negotiating.
Team Canelo is obviously angling toward two to three years down the line when 3G has shown the effects of age.

Clearly they are making a derisory offer because they don't want the fight, at least not yet.
10% is a ridiculous offer.

Re: Oscar said Canelo 90% and GGG gets 10%, wtf???
I don't understand why the onus is on GGG to take it up the ass at the negotiating table just to prove what everybody already knows and the public agree on, that GGG is the actual best middleweight around. This is protecting an investment, not a serious number or attempt. DLH likely knows what Golovkin will do once the bell rings there is no going back. So delay that showdown as effectively as possible.
Re: Oscar said Canelo 90% and GGG gets 10%, wtf???
ODLH might as well just plaster a 20ft sign on the front of GBP head quarters saying "we will do just about anything to avoid Canelo getting in the ring with that beast"
Their intentions couldn't be more transparent if they tried.
Canelo must be slightly embarrased by his promotions team (even if he is slightly scared of the hiding he'd get)

I honestly do not understand why Oscar is making Canelo look scared, I mean I do see and get it regarding the "milking the cow" but we know from experience that Saul is not afraid to face anyone.
Damn Oscar is turning into Arum.

If DLH insists and K2 disagrees, wouldn't it go to a purse bid, and Golovkin will get like 30% ?

Canelo and ODLH are pathetic.....Canelo is a douche, fights at 155 cuz hes too lazy to make 154....but is a chicken shit to fight GGG at 160. I blame Roach/Pactard for making it seem ok to ask for catchweights every time.

I'm hoping so because this 10% nonsense is just straight up fear or greed or a little of both, at least if it does go there we know that it will definitely be higher than the lame offer they have now.ikorolev wrote:If DLH insists and K2 disagrees, wouldn't it go to a purse bid, and Golovkin will get like 30% ?

The purse bid would be 55/45 cus ggg has a belt too. Also the purse bid would mean no catch weight. Oscar is just talking shit, canelo will force his hand like he did with Lara and trout.

Re: Oscar said Canelo 90% and GGG gets 10%, wtf???
because GGG is mandatory challenger for the title and if it goes to purse bid the WBCSNG wrote:I'm not saying he should, but you all think he'll win so why not take less money now to make more in the future as the lineal and recognised middleweight champion.SFW wrote:Why should he?SNG wrote:Why would GGG not take it?
split is 70/30, so GB can pay GGG 30% minimum or get stripped of his title. the WBC
board can even modify that to a more even split, and in this case they would. this is twice
now canelo has already paid GGG to step aside under the promise that GGG will fight for
that title, so let's be serious about about what the options are, here.
http://wbcboxing.com/downloads/WBCRules ... ec2011.pdf
that said, DLH just suggested that if the purse was split based on popularity it would be 90% canelo,
which is a number people pull out of their ass all day whenever they want to estimate a big majority.
he did not say that 90% is an actual legit purse split that would ever happen. they both already agreed
that they are not fighting each other until september anyway, so continuing to explain why they aren't
fighting each other in may is just beating a dead horse.
Re: Oscar said Canelo 90% and GGG gets 10%, wtf???
This is just Oscar's way of saying Canelo won't fight GGG now because it needs to marinate.....so GGG can "earn" more of the % of the purse...Oscar knows that Canelo will get his ass handed to him imo.
