Wilder-Povetkin on the Fury-Klitschko undercard in England would be perfect neutral ground for both fighters and set up a defacto four man tournament for the lineal title.

Who cares? His belt is a paper belt. I rank Povetkin above Wilder in my rankings . . he's as much of a champ as Wilder is.

It might as well be the "WBC heavyweight" strap on. Fury is The Champ. Wilder is still a wannabe.

What's wrong with August? Unless of course Wilder and the winner of Fury v WKlit II decide to schedule for late 2016.

I wouldn't mind seeing Wilder v Martin in April.

Why should he?

Povetkin is a fraud! His record was built fighting with pensioners like Bird and Donald....most of his fight took place in Russia and, at least part of them were fixed...the vs Perez fight was badly fixed - poor Cuban guy stood open and waited for Povetkin punch!!!

His fight with Klichko was embarrasing...he met the canvas 4-5 times following jabs!!! Wlad had to hold him from falling to KO...his performance was much worse than any other Klichko contender as far as I remember...

Someone can explain me why is this bum so appreciated at this forum???

discussions are going well
details are not yet ready
It would be interesting to stage the fight in America
within the next month we should have answers
Povetkin has already started training

Also on another news WBC gave them one month to negotiate.

SO WHERE THE FCK THE AUGUST CAME FROM?

"The Russian promoter revealed that Povetkin has already started training with coach Ivan Kirpa. The fight with Wilder is expected to take place before the end of the summer. The final stage of the camp will be determined once the date and location of the contest has been finalized by both sides."

How the fuckk is this evidence that Povetkin is avoiding Wilder? Take your Deontay blinders off for a moment Marv.

I guess I have blinders on because I am of the opinion that Wilder will come thru Povetkin if the match is made? Round two of his fight with Wlad where he gets knocked down by a jab doesn't give me much confidence in his ability to take Wilders right hand.

If Povetkin does agree to this fight I see it as Ryabinsky cashing out his fighter rather than chasing the IBF title like every other non-titled heavy. Povetkin was not ranked in the top 15 in that organization so he was in a poor position to benefit from the recent developments that saw Martin claim the title. His team clearly has no desire to fight the winner of Wlad-Fury so ruining the scheduling then gives them an excuse should they win.

:shame: Shame on you for making that up!

Povetkin is willing and will be ready in three months. No more excuses from Wilder.

Wilder has already fought in the UK.
Yeah that was a HUGE step out of the comfort zone against a top level opponent who came to win :OhYes:

Just wow!

I'm not saying Povetkin has racked up a whos who of heavy weight greats, but just hold his record next to Wilders, compare and contrast.
His record was better than Wilders on the run up to winning a title (which wouldn't be difficult of course),
his win over a 2011 Chagaev is as good as Wilders over Stiverne in fact I'd probably back Chagaev to beat Stiverne now,
he had 4 defences every bit as good as Wilders 2,
he fought Wlad, Wilder has no-one anywhere near that class on his record
and he has fought, soundly beaten and brutally KO'd 4 guys since that loss who are better than the guys Wilder has fought defending a feckin world title

Povetkin is a very good fighter, solid in every department (better than Fury or Wilder is a good few) who is unfortunate to be one of those guys caught between divisions in terms of size. But I'll be honest here, he beats Wilder for me. Wilder has a chance with that right hand, but he's not favourite and that's why Wilder will duck him.

And if he does, that tells you everything you need to know about how good Povetkin is in comparison to Wilder

What Povetkin record???
40yo,out of shape Rahman? 40yo,2 years out of ring Donald(it went the distance!!!)??
Same Firtha, that was cleaned by Wilder in first round, and they also went the distance???

His only decent fight was with Chagaev...boring 12 rounds that could also go to Chagayev if he was Russian(he is Uzbek).

Povetkin got the fight with The Man only becouse of 24M$ that was paid by pro-Putin olygarch to make "patriotic show" in Moscow...but it went terribly wrong and Povetkin made punching bag performance.

Both Wilder and Povetkin (and any other top boxer) have their "bum list", so let's not make Povetkin great...he really isn't...
