Chris Keane
Chris Keane
I know Chris Keane's trainer sometimes posts on here, but I was just wondering how Chris was doing with his recovery from his torn bicep?
I saw he had a couple of TBA fights scheduled on BoxRec a while ago but they have since disappeared.
I remember when he blasted out Shane McPhilbin I thought he could go on and win a British title at least. From what I have seen he is a really dangerous lively cruiserweight.

Re: Chris Keane
Hi mate, Chris is finally full time back in the gym now and all looks and seems regarding the injury to be finally all sorted. Chris will 100% be fighting in a 6 rounder on 27th February on our show in Birmingham and hopefully towards the end of 2016 we hope will be back in position to fight for the British Title, anyone who has sparred Chris, seen him in the gym and even people that saw what he did to McPhilbin know he is capable of big things, and I've saw glimpses of a lot more at times he is capable of, he really is a talented fighter and is still young and fresh and has lots to offer, he can and will ignite some excitement back into the division, he has just been extremely unlucky, hopefully all of that is now behind him and he can go on and fulfil his potential, I know he would love to win the Lonsdale Belt.

Think Danny Price has a well paid job now & kids so think lost his hunger for the game , didn't help living in scarborough was always on the road training /sparring , still young enough to give it another go though .

Re: Chris Keane
I've messaged And asked for it, a couple times, he's said he's up for it but I doubt it, he's never really made no noise about wanting to set the record straight, he knows he never really won that fight.amirah wrote:get chris a rematch with bennet... that guy got lucky in the first fight and because of it acts like hes the second coming of ali now!!!
It took all the effort and some serious pursuding from his promoter and manager to get him to walk to the ring for for the 1st fight haha, the board was in the dressing room trying to sort it out, and lots of other people persuading him to fight on the night, so much so the crowd was waiting about 20 plus minutes for the fight to start over him making some mad complaint and refusing to fight because of the brand of gloves first and then the condition of gloves haha, the board inspected and handed out the gloves which he had first pick of and then just before ring walk his glove was suddenly ripped inside and he didn't want to fight in them or the other gloves that was there which meant there would be no fight, he was just scared, and anyone who was there could tell you the same thing so I very much doubt he will give Chris a rematch, fair play to him though, he went through with the fight and struck gold when Chris bicep in his right arm completely detached from his glenoid and rolled down his arm in the 2nd round, he knows he still lost that fight though, even though Chris only had his jab hand, he only got it by 1 point on a split decision because it was on his home show, he knows he will get k.o'd next time like he should of the first time, I hope I'm wrong though and he does fancy giving Chris a rematch next, Chris had made no secret that he will fight any C/W in the UK at any point, and on there home shows, hopefully now he's lost and people have seen he is beatable they will fancy there chances and some big fights can be made
Re: Chris Keane
sounds about right the guy really does think he a susperstar!! i remember reading chris hurt his arm and got beat on a split-if he did that with one arm i think he would take bennet out with two!! i think askin will bring him down to earth in feb but if not lets hope chris gets the chance to mate
Re: Chris Keane
There potentially some good domestic fights at Cruiserweight- it would be good to see the boxers fighting each other for Area, English and British titles.

Nice 1 Courtney.
Seen you live a few times and when you aren't giving away weight and are on it you're a handful.

Re: Chris Keane
Chris has never took a easy fight mate, and tbh Chris is looking on getting back in the title mix and by beating yourself mate with no disrespect, it won't put him back there, your record or ranking won't help do that unfortunately so on my behalf the fight makes no sense, nothing in it for Chris, but if you can improve your ranking or get a shot at one of the lads that have got a title then the fight can happen because then it's worth while. Or if you want to fight Chris that bad which I'm told you do, you could fight for free and get your chance on the 27th or ask your team to put the fight on in your home town for a worth while title later in the year and it can happenrealcrichards wrote:thankyou, i appreciate that! this year im on it, and i actually will fight anyone. some people too keen to take easy fights on home shows! but would love the keane fight.

Re: Chris Keane
didnt mean him when i said about sitting on the home shows taking easy fights. but only name i recognised on his record was an out of date mcphilbin. thats all. chris is a good fighter and i respect that 100%.
hopefully the fight can happen, because im interested in climbing up this year. so, who knows, maybe paths may cross. in my opinion, i would be too much for him. thats why fight wont happen. but like i said, who knows.
what does facing a journeyman get him, surely id be a more 'accomplished' win than a tin can push over? just wondering.

It's been offered to a couple of decent lads, 1 being unbeaten and it's been turned down for one reason or another, still waiting on another couple of replys mate.maley1984 wrote:Who is Chris fighting in the 27th @boxingcutsman

Re: Chris Keane
We're not looking for a journey man mate for next fight, and your right you are 100% a handful, your a decent fighter & good tough kid, but IMO if you fought Chris that would be your downfall mate, you like to plough forward just like people like Shane McPhilbin who is a very very tough lad, and a couple of the unbeaten lads he's fought, but Chris hits too hard and that's a fact, you wouldn't keep coming and be taking too many in 10oz gloves mate, and you wouldn't outbox him IMO Courtney, like I say I know you can be a handful but the fight can happen, I've gave you a couple of options mate, the ball is in your court, also I think too much as been read into in him losing to Bennett and you beating Bennett, Chris right bicep totally detached from his glenoid in the 2nd round of that fight and Bennett was just so negative it was unreal, but Chris still beat him one handed but they gave it to the home kid has it was his show and lots of fans there for him by 1 point on a S/Drealcrichards wrote:didnt mean him when i said about sitting on the home shows taking easy fights. but only name i recognised on his record was an out of date mcphilbin. thats all. chris is a good fighter and i respect that 100%.

Hopefully this can be put to rest and you can fight and see how it would plan out, I know Chris is like yourself and doesn't care who he fights, but for people like me who are involved, the fights need to make sense both career wise and business wise

Also that out of date McPhilbin was British Champion 2 fights prior to fighting Chris, and them 2 fights were against former world champion Enzo Maccranelli who Shane got robbed of the KO win in the first one. So he wasn't out of date mate, also Chris demolished him inside 3 rounds, something that no other fighter had done or has done since, including Sprott and any other of the heavyweights he's faced
