Topic A - How are the rankings affected by Deontay Wilder's KO9 win over Artur Szpilka?
No changes.
Topic B - How are the rankings affected by Charles Martin's TKO3 win over Vyacheslav Glazkov?
Martin stays unranked, Glazkov out.
Topic C - How are the rankings affected by David Haye's TKO1 win over Mark de Mori?
I always get a bit confused with these multiple topic votes. Haye enters at... 10? Ahead of Chisora, behind Szpilka (with Glazkov out) anyway. De Mori stays unranked.

Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum heavyweight rankings
I think best thing is to make changes one by one following the time of the events. First was Haye fight, so you change rankings for that fight first. Then Martin/Glazkov, then Wilder/Szpilka. This will give you your final ranking.I always get a bit confused with these multiple topic votes

Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum heavyweight rankings
Wilder remains at 3, Szpilka drops to whatever you call the number below Chisora/Stiverne and above Malik Scott.
No change to Martin's or Glazkov's rankings (although I think Glazkov is way too high).
Haye and Dr Mori both remain unranked.
I refuse to get excited about Hate until he beats a respectable opponent.

Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum heavyweight rankings
Wilder stays at #3.
Szpilka out
Szpilka should not even have been in the top 15. Beating him is completely irrelevant. Struggling to do so is not good sign for Wilder. Wilder is maybe notch too high at the moment but I am not willing to down vote fighters when they win.
Glazkov stay at #8
Martin stays out.
Next we have this joke of a "title" fight. Winning when opponent gets injured doesn't prove much. I hope that Glazkov can make full recovery and comes back to prove that he still belongs in the top 15. Hes lucky (read corrupt) wins against some opponents should not count too much against him. All were really close fights and actually pretty bad match ups for Glazkov. Boxing against fast opponents with bigger reach and good skills is not an easy task. I think Glazkov has still hidden potential and will surprise some people in the future.
Haye in at #15
De Mori stays out.
It good to have Haye back. Annoying person but he sure can box. Time will tell if he still has what it takes to climb to the top. Hopefully Szpilka will drop out of the list and make way for Haye without the need to kick any better boxers out.
On a side note I am note quite sure why do we vote for Haye now. He was not in top 15 and his opponent was not even near that level. So who decides witch fights are worth voting for? Jezzamundo alone? That doesn't feel very democratic. For an example a case could be made that Helenius vs Rill fight should have been up for vote. Helenius was definitely a top 15 fighter before the layout and hes last opponent was on par with De Mori. We have also voted Parker in the list on similar way but guys like Browne, Mansour, Gjergjaj and Andy Ruiz have never had chance to be voted in.
Maybe we need some kind of way to suggest important fights to be voted on. Or simply a system where people can only get to the list when there is vacant spot.

If you believe there is a fight that needs to be voted then you can ask and if there is support perhaps it will be voted upon.Heretic wrote: On a side note I am note quite sure why do we vote for Haye now. If anyone requests a topic for a fight involving two unranked fighters, I consider it. On rare occasions - as with the Haye fight - I will make a topic on a fight involving two unranked fighters if I believe it is significant enough. No, it's not 100% objective, but I think it works well enough.

To clarify, when I say top 15 I mean the top 15 based on these rankings, which are determined by everyone who votes.

Sorry, phone is playing up and quote button isn't working for me.
I don't remember posting my top 15 - if you're referring to the BWH rankings, they belong to this forum, not to me.
Scott entered the rankings by beating then ranked heavyweight Tony Thompson, Stiverne has been ranked ever since beating then ranked heavyweight Chris Arreola. Parker, on the other hand, never beat a ranked fighter - I made a topic for the Parker- Meehan fight based on a request.

This thing has been quite significant lately with 3 votes already.
If my memory serves me right... Stiverne got in when he first beat Arreola who was in BOXREC Forum heavyweight rankings top 15 at the time. Scott got in when he fought draw with Glazkov who at the time was already in the rankings.asdfjkl wrote: Except for Parker several of your topics in a row now, also, Stiverne and Scot for example shouldn't be in.

Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum heavyweight rankings
Oh that's oké, but that has been about 1,5 and 2,5 years ago and both of them clearly went downhill since then and even Glazkov hasn't really impressed me yet, he's just a nice pointscorer, he's like Povetkin without power.Heretic wrote:If my memory serves me right... Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum heavyweight rankings
Personally I think that Joshua and Parker got in on the list bit too early. They seem to have the ability but lack the big wins. Beating Meehan or Whyte should not bring you anywhere near top 15 of any list. So I would like to wait until they have the real wins to prove their worth. Joshua was in some trouble against Whyte. Might be because Whyte is better than I thought or because Joshua is not so great as I thought. I guess time will tell.
This rankings have been in the past pretty close to my own rankings and probably the best ranking that I have found online. It has been interesting list to follow

Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum heavyweight rankings
I have been fooled by boxers that seem to have great talent many times in the past. Lucas Mathysse and David Price just to name two. SO I have learned not to trust on perceived ability too much.

For me it's clear that Whyte would win against Wilder for example if he's 100%, but AJ is just too good.Heretic wrote:Personally I think that Joshua and Parker got in on the list bit too early.
