Yeah, the Tiozzo thing never gets mentioned by the Dariuz crew......I apologize for bringing that up in public.

He was washed up, a has been, had gotten fat, his teeth were rotting, and of course he was suffering from the heartbreak of psoriasis at the time.

It's not a fair topic.

Why, do I get a prize if I am?

Why is that fight such an outlyer?

I get a kick out of bringing it up to the Dariusz supporters......

and find it fascinating that not once, has it ever been commented on.

Perhaps it never happened.

You are the man!

and yes I suppose I am a true genius...

But not just because of this one lone, yet brilliant observation..

He was favored, and he was retired after that. It's not a big deal.....but it's ok to comment on it. IMHO.

Oh...and it's ok of the DM folks to NOT comment on it as well.

I'm not a fan at all. Can't be after the shenanigans he pulled in the first Rocky fight. Still, you're harping on a bit too much about the Tiozzo fight, yet to prove a point.

same here. he should have taken a
possible loss like a man instead of
cheating himself to a win. as a person
he lost all my respect that night.

Yes, he was washed up - what is wrong with it? Around 37 years old, some tought fights on the counter... and not exactly healthy lifestyle on top of it.

Actually, you may see he was on the slide for quite a time - just compare the first fight with Hall with the rematch... and this was already a couple of years before Tiozzo.

Not to mention he hadn't fought in 16 months prior to Tiozzo, and that was a split decision loss to Julio Cesar Gonzalez.

OK.....I'd say they were both pretty well washed up by then.

OK, so what's your point? One washed up fighter beat another. Not necessarily indicative of what would've happened with both at their best. Is that what you're insinuating?

My shocking assertion is that Tiozzo was much his peer...and likely to beat him anytime along the way. And yeah, could swing the other way as well. But they were evenly matched.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

You're big on what you think might've possibly happened in a parallel universe vs what actually happened in real life, aren't you?

It comes easy to some of us, but let's not make this about me, and my talents/gifts and skill set.

In this case there is at least one fact involved. Which provides a manifest rationale which lowers the difficulty factor when ruminating on hypothetical conjectures such as this one.

Jones justifiably gets criticized for not pushing for a fight against DM. Looking at it from another angle, should DM have done more to push for the fight?

DM was good at managing to effectively stay in range at all times. Great fighter.
