Custom shorts

Post by Cazelo »

Long gone are the plain old shorts that Mike Tyson used to wear or the simple design Muhammad Ali had. Everyone is now wearing customised shorts. Which shorts have stood out to people over the last 10-20 years? For the right or wrong reasons.

I've always liked the simple black shorts with little to nothing on them. Very menacing look...

I was never a fan of the shorts/skirts combo thing that the likes of Johnny Nelson used to wear.

For some reason I remember the maroon velour shorts favoured by Frank Bruno !

The plain black shorts of Mike Tyson also looked good.

Some of the shorts worn today with their different colour combo's and tassels etc. just look shite to me.

I quite liked David Haye's look in the de Mori fight. Higher shorts, white and gold and long black socks. One his celebrity designer pals prob designs it

Danny Garcia's pink leopard print ones were shocking last night.

Being a boxer myself I am always looking at the designs. Funnily enough it was Garcias shorts that made me do the topic. Looked terrible

It's funny. It's about timing. I remember wheninsaw Nigel Benn walk in the ring with his sequinned shorts againt Michael Watson, they looked amazing. But I'd never seen stuff like that. Hatton's shorts were awful as were Mayweather's.

I remember Pele Reid followed the Ingle style of having that ripped-skirt thing. It looked awful.

Was it Amir Khan that had those shorts that cost about the same as a house?

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about them. They were bad alright. Johnny Nelson wore terrible trunks as well. Jorge Paez, on the other hand, had cool ones.

Does nobody else wish theres some young pro coming through who chooses to wear the old school shorts :bag:

Is there a more tragic site in boxing than seeing some overweight HW with massive long shorts on,im thinking Danny Williams

I hated velvet shorts when I was fighting, I love them now and wish I wore them, Hagler looked great in them, I remember Bruno wearing them too.

Tyson Fury's green budgie smugglers were pretty bad.

I love the West Ham shorts as worn by Kaylor et al.

Haye's union flag shorts are nice. Also like the black glittery ones Benn wore.

Can't beat the simple Tyson look.

Do like AJ's choices so far, especially the black and gold.

I know someone has already criticised mayweathers shorts but I reckon Mayweather usually looks the part. Over the top with the choice of material (leather etc) but the design itself is usually spot on.

Hattons shorts when he got sparked off Pacman were smart too.

Also agree that Joshua has picked his quite well so far.

Kronk gear.
Tyson's all black kit.
Frazier's green trunks in the first Ali fight.
Naz's leopard print.
Oscar's red Puma trunks in the first Mosley fight.
Whitaker's blue trunks vs Chavez.
Wlad's Hugo Boss trunks shorts look class.

Can't remember who Jones was fighting here but he looks boss.

No one has mentioned Eubank's bright yellow shorts, they were hideous.

Pacquiao picks well. The red pair and blue nike pairs are plain, simple and lovely shorts.
