Groves, then Eddie The Vulture will see to build his fighters off the back of Groves.

Eddie will try.
I hope Groves goes through the whole lot of them, then signs with W@rren and uses B0xNati0ns Sky PPV platform...

Groves is fringe world class. Di Luisa isn't anywhere close.

Di Luisa is really mediocre. He kind of follows opponents round the ring and whilst he has stoppages on his record, he looks like he just prods his punches out and there is nothing on them at all. He's very upright with no head movement.

I'd peg him below British title level, let alone euro or world. But it is what it is - a very poor comeback opponent.

That would be ideal!

coming off a loss to Badou Jack this is a good fight for George, something to get him back into contention against a European level opponent.

This will be interesting to see how he handles the change in trainers, coming back from a defeat and hopefully getting back to world contention the hard way, by earning it the hard way by beating everyone on the way up.

Callum smith, 18-0, undefeated, holds WBC silver title and the British super middleweight title
Hadillah Mohoumadi, 20-3, current EBU champion, #1 in france, has gone 12 rounds with James Degale in the past
Luke Blackledge, 20-2-2, current Commonwealth champion, 6 fight win streak, ranked in the top ten in the UK

Three fights for Groves that he could and should win convincingly and all three would give him more than the fight against Di Luisa

Yeah I agree. Groves pre Froch vs Smith would be a great fight, the current version of Groves gets poleaxed for me.

I hope that George wins the bout convincingly so that he can again shout about being 'world class' something which unfortunately he has never really been. Yes he looked incredible for 6 rounds against a Carl froch who clearly had not made the effort required for the fight. But when the championship mentality was needed it was clearly lacking. This was demonstrated even further in the rematch where I think groves expected to walk straight through froch, but we all know how that ended. The fight against jack was far from close and yet again groves was out of puff and out of ideas far too early on in the fight. My opinion is that he is European class at best and would be incredibly fortunate to ever win world honours let alone defend them given a chance. His mouth will continue to run regardless, calling out 'chunky'and froch again no doubt. A domestic clash with a certain Mr Smith might just put him in the could have been box forever more.

Well said to both of you, I'd see it going into the final rounds then Groves gasses out and gets stopped by Smith

hopefully, after Di Luisa, Groves can get a fight with WBA 'regular' Champion and fellow Italian Giovanni De Carolis.
Leading to the winner of Chudinov/Sturm for the WBA 'super' Title...

I'm expecting a Groves TKO or a wide points victory at least. But after that, I'd like to see George taking more care in naming his opponents. He's a talented boxer and I'd definitely rate him as one of the best of his division, but he isn't going to keep getting World title opportunities.

The sad thing is I think he would try to get a fight with Carolis after the Luisa fight and just end up stumbling again at the world level.

This is just my opinion now but I'd rather see him stay at European level for a year or two and rebuild himself (reputation and style of boxer) before he has another go at any of the world titles

I think Groves will be fine under the McGuigans guidance.
Under Booth he was a fighter, under Fitzpatrick he tried to be a leader calling all his own shots and managing every aspect of his career.
He seems to me to be a lad who needs a strong confident team around him and in Barry, Shane, Frampton and Haye he has those strong figures by his side.

I'm out when this fight is on.

Can't say I'm overly fussed about missing it.

Ive only ever seen Di Luisa once, getting busted up in 4 by Bute, his 3 defeats have all came by KO including light hitting Rebrasse although i dont know if he retired on his stool in that one, unless Groves has deteriated even more after that Jack loss i can see him stopping Andrea around the same time

Di Luisa does seem to haver power though so theres always a chance Groves gets tagged early like against Jack and Douglin

Interesting to see what he has left. I honestly think Fitzpatrick was a big reason behind his defeats. I think he needs a strong trainer who will make him put in the hard yards. Paddy was not that. If he listens to McGuigan and still has something left in the tank, I think he can win a world title.

Groves v Murray is a great fight next if he looks good in this one.

I would call out the Italian WBA "regular" title holder after he wins.
Get on the mic wwe style and say ive just beat 1 italian bum now time to beat another.
Then onto Chudinov...

If Groves and Murray were to fight for a vacant world title it would end a draw
