Probably Canelo.

Alvarez is much bigger & younger & some felt he might be too big for FMJ, but Floyd made easy work of him.

Except for Corrales, he's always been the frontrunner. The fact that he won the way he did makes that one his signature win to me, even if I don't rate Corrales all that highly. Canelo is another good call.

Corrales doesn't exactly loom large in boxing history, does he.

There were plenty of times Mayweather could have tackled a scary opponent but he boxed someone else, moved division, temporarily retired etc. History will not be kind.

One of very few fights I regret not betting and betting big on. I didn't see any way a slow-footed low-volume guy like Alvarez could really even cause Floyd to break a sweat.

Yup, I'm not a fan. I'm also not blind. Marquez, Manny, etc . not mention Shane was top 5 p4p when he fought him. Definitive atg, I'd guess he'd be in my top 20-30.

WTKO 11 Diego Corrales
W12 Saul " Canelo" Alvarez
WTKO8 Genaro " Chicanito" Hernandez
WTKO6 Juan Manuel Marquez
W12 Jose Luis Castillo (II)...Proved that he was the better man in the rematch
WTKO2 Angel "El Diablo" Manfredy
W12 Shane Mosley
W12 Marcos Maidana

Uffff He didn't need the Pacman's or Golden Boy's wins. The great Floyd Mayweather, Jr. beat every significant top notch fighter of his era from 130 to 154lbs. He has been the best fighter pound per pound for the last 15 years, a decade and a half. And he never lost a fight. A top ten boxer ATG in my view.

I remember him brutally finishing Marquez in the 6th round. Was an incredible night of boxing. On this night, no man could have beaten the great Pretty Boy. Even the great Roberto Duran would have farted and turned his back, wailing 'No Mas!'

It is. The win over an ancient Mosley is actually probably the biggest win. It only came six years after Winky Wright beat him for the second time.

His most impressive performances

KO 7 Phillip Ndou
TKO 6 Arturo Gatti
TKO 10 Diego Corrales

He looked fantastic, and near untouchable in all 3 of those fights.

Plus he's got wins over Cotto, Mosley, De La Hoya, Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez among others.

History will be exceedingly kind. People will look at the names. He tackled plenty of scary opponents until he beat them. Then the excuses flew. He fought a 170 lb kid in his prime as an old man. Schooled Manny, but that doesn't matter either. He'll have 10 or so hof fighters on his ledger.

Yes Im with Saad on this. I can't sand Floyd and have been praying for him to lose for years..but he doesn't. He's beaten everyone pretty much. It could be argued he should have fought manny before manny started looking beatable - other than that the names on his resume are tremendous. DLH, Moseley, Manny P, JMM, Canelo, Cotto, Castillo, Corrales, Hatton, Maidana - He's one of the greatest fighters of all time and would give anyone around his weight class in history hell. He's just almost impossible to hit cleanly and punches with more venom than his record would suggest. Everyone thinks they can just charge in there and rough him up - but it just doesn't happen as he's sooo hard to hit and then punishes fighters for their mistakes. A truly exceptional fighter on all levels......still cant stand him tho lol
