It's an easy sell. Kahn has been running his mouth for years about how Mayweather and Pacman, two modern greats, are petrified of him.
Let's see how terrifying and unbeatable this new Khan is versus a man who previously annihilated him.

Angel Garcia can sell out this fight on his own. ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

So because a guy got knocked out he cant win a rematch 4 years later, stupid and this is why boxers take the easy route to protect there 0 so you guys don't write them off after a loss.
Re: Garcia v Khan ordered by WBC how do you sell?
annihilated a bit misleading, khan was boxing his ears off before he got overeager and walked into that counter left hook, even at the end khan looked like he could of carried on, im no khan fan by the way but if he has learnt from that defeat he beats garcia who looks more average every time i see himTuan_Jim wrote:It's an easy sell. I can't believe how often this argument gets used.littlepug wrote:annihilated a bit misleading, khan was boxing his ears off before he got overeager and walked into that counter left hook, even at the end khan looked like he could of carried on, im no khan fan by the way but if he has learnt from that defeat he beats garcia who looks more average every time i see himTuan_Jim wrote:It's an easy sell. It was a 12 round fight and he won 2 and a half rounds. 2 and a half rounds!
Say he hadn't been clubbed in the 3rd. Who's to say Garcia isn't going to adjust and time at some point? What if all that time Khan was outboxing Garcia, Garcia was outthinking Khan? He was certainly getting closer and closer.
Re: Garcia v Khan ordered by WBC how do you sell?
I love the hate of Khan that comes out in some of these posts. Khan got caught by a big left hook and never recovered. He didn't take a solid 12-round beating. Had Garcia gone on from strength to strength since, maybe you would say he was a class above, but apart from Matthysse, he has scraped through most of his fights.
I see Paddy Power have priced this up and make Khan a 4-9 favourite and Garcia is 7-4. If anyone thinks this is no match, go lump on and get rich.

Khan is a fool, he's gonna go overseas to fight a guy who knocked him out all ready for a third of the money he would get for fighting Kell at home. ![[icon_witsend.gif] :witzend:](./images/smilies/icon_witsend.gif)
Re: Garcia v Khan ordered by WBC how do you sell?
watched it again the other night and it wasnt a case of garcia closing the distance, it was khan pushing the fight on the front foot that got him into trouble, so not garcia out thinking him but khan not thinking enough was his undoingTuan_Jim wrote:I can't believe how often this argument gets used.littlepug wrote:annihilated a bit misleading, khan was boxing his ears off before he got overeager and walked into that counter left hook, even at the end khan looked like he could of carried on, im no khan fan by the way but if he has learnt from that defeat he beats garcia who looks more average every time i see himTuan_Jim wrote:It's an easy sell. Khan never thinks that's his problem he thinks he can fight anyone. But has has boxed to a plan more with hunter. Still would pick Garcia to win even though hes not brilliant either maybe points garcia

Garcia will certainly be far more ambitious and dangerous than anyone the new Khan/Hunter hybrid has boxed. It's a fascinating fight.
Will Khan take a tuneup?

Sounds like Khan played into Garcia Jr & Srs strategy.littlepug wrote:watched it again the other night and it wasnt a case of garcia closing the distance, it was khan pushing the fight on the front foot that got him into trouble, so not garcia out thinking him but khan not thinking enough was his undoingTuan_Jim wrote:I can't believe how often this argument gets used.littlepug wrote: annihilated a bit misleading, khan was boxing his ears off before he got overeager and walked into that counter left hook, even at the end khan looked like he could of carried on, im no khan fan by the way but if he has learnt from that defeat he beats garcia who looks more average every time i see him

Garcia will knock Khan out again.
Re: Garcia v Khan ordered by WBC how do you sell?
He did, but the question is has Khan improved that part of his game under Hunter. My opinion would be yesTuan_Jim wrote:Sounds like Khan played into Garcia Jr & Srs strategy.littlepug wrote:watched it again the other night and it wasnt a case of garcia closing the distance, it was khan pushing the fight on the front foot that got him into trouble, so not garcia out thinking him but khan not thinking enough was his undoingTuan_Jim wrote:

And that's what makes this an easy sell! We don't know for sure until we watch it!gobbles wrote:He did, but the question is has Khan improved that part of his game under Hunter. I wonder if we can get Breidis Prescott on the undercard? I always remember King putting Oliver McCall on the Lewis/Rahman II undercard, as if he were trying to play with Lewis's head.

Garcia wasn't blindly swinging in that fight and got lucky. He was watching Khan's feet and when they hit a certain point he threw the left as he knew Khan moves back with his chin out in straight lines (if he moves).
Garcia had to sort his timing then Khan walked into the trap. Brilliant gameplan

Re: Garcia v Khan ordered by WBC how do you sell?
It's not a bad fight.
Garcia really does blow hot and cold at times though, and I'm not sure he's been reborn at 147 either.
Meanwhile Khan has been pissing his career away on social media, whilst his uncles, aunties, grandma, granddad, pet dog, pet cat, goldfish and his childhood tamagotchi all head off to meetings to broker fights on his behalf.
It feels like Amir is grabbing hold of this fight like it's a life raft at sea after jumping off HMS Brook.

Re: Garcia v Khan ordered by WBC how do you sell?
Good fight, I like Garcia myself and I would pick him to beat khan again,I agree that khan was beating Garcia before he caught him but I think Garcia is a fighter that takes a couple of rounds to warm up and he's a smarter fighter than khan, I'm not sold on khan with hunter and I can see Garcia stopping khan again in the mid to late rounds.

Maybe it's just me but I don't see much of an improvement in Khan defensively under Virgil.
Collazo didn't land anything but he's old and relatively slow now. Against Algieri and Alexander he got tagged a few too many times, if he gets caught that often by Garcia it won't end well for him.

Algieri buzzed him if I recall.CaptainSpacerod wrote:Maybe it's just me but I don't see much of an improvement in Khan defensively under Virgil.

Going straight in with a bit of a puncher in Garcia, a guy whom has already knocked him sideways is not a great idea after such a lengthy layoff.
You need to be rust-free and fully sharp.

Khan would be a favourite against any fighter other than Mayweather or Pacquiao as the bookies run scared of the money that will go on him from blind casual supporters. Hype means more to casual punters than actual abilitygobbles wrote:I love the hate of Khan that comes out in some of these posts. Khan got caught by a big left hook and never recovered. Pile on then. I seem to remember people on here talking about taking wheelbarrows of cash to the bookies to bet on Collazo against him, now Collazo is written off as some sort of joke.

Re: Garcia v Khan ordered by WBC how do you sell?
The sensible bet if this fight was to go ahead would be Garcia. Khan's best win was years ago, that win wasn't against anyone with the pedigree of Garcia and add to that Garcia beat him last time in 4 rounds.gobbles wrote:freddydoesdallas wrote:Khan would be a favourite against any fighter other than Mayweather or Pacquiao as the bookies run scared of the money that will go on him from blind casual supporters. I remember people saying that if Collazo had something left in the tank and could land a big shot on him then he could win and that would be worth a bet. It was based on assumptions. Garcia being favoured is based on cold hard facts

I agree with you regarding khan boxing his ears off but to say he looked like he could carry on is abit of a joke, did you see the ref cam? Khan looked like he was a kip standing up,iv looked better after 6 pints of stella at 3am and im no drinker. I think khan will win the rematchlittlepug wrote:annihilated a bit misleading, khan was boxing his ears off before he got overeager and walked into that counter left hook, even at the end khan looked like he could of carried on, im no khan fan by the way but if he has learnt from that defeat he beats garcia who looks more average every time i see himTuan_Jim wrote:It's an easy sell.
