John Wayne Hibbert vs Tommy Martin

Hibbert makes the 1st defence of his Commonwealth SLW title against unbeaten Martin on the Groves undercard,i think this will be a cracker,both guys have fan friendly busy styles,Hibbert was fortunate to win the belt after Ryan's back went in their 3rd fight which Dave was bossing,still a win a win and im sure we'll see a 4th fight whether Hibbert retains or not

I quite fancy Martin for the job,i rate him,he's not the biggest puncher but he doesnt mind getting involved,this is a step up but not too big,the Boylan fight would have served him well for this one,im gonna say Tommy on points,some close rounds but his class telling by the end

Hibbert hits hard at this level but he did seem to be caught undecided last time against Ryan whether he was a boxer or a puncher. He needs to settle on the latter and he has every chance here.

I've not seen Tommy box and though I've enjoyed Hibbert box in the past think Ryan exposed him big time, its a crying shame what happened in their 3rd bout.

Marty Tew and Terry Needham, neither were heavy knockdowns but still a bit of a concern. He also got wobbled a couple times by Boylan.

Hibbert May not be a world beater, but if he hits hard enough to floor Dave Ryan I can't imagine Martin will be be able to take his shots for 12 rounds.

saw the Boylan fight but didnt realise he'd been down twice neither are mentioned on his boxrec record

Also was down at the york hall in an earlier fight but looked dubious at the time although it was a knockdown counted against andy harris

Realy hope John "Wayne" Hibbert wins this as what I've seen of him in the interviews I think he's a top fella. Carries himself well. I agree he had a right touch against Dave Ryan, but that wasn't he's fault and if it were the other way round I'm sure Dave wouldn't had made a fuss about getting the decision. Hibbert did look quality against Ricky Bolan. Tommy ain't a mug and looked good in his last outing.
