Great personality to have anchoring a show, but every now and again he just needs to shut up and let the guests speak. Way ahead of any of Sky's robotic/cue card reading pundits though!!

Re: Bunce...
Sounds like the podcast might be getting binned?
He mentioned on this weeks show that there's going to be "significant changes next week or the week after" and alluded to scaling back to do more "online content".

Re: Bunce...
That would be a shame, the ESPN Bunce podcast is one of the best.simonwalsh wrote:Sounds like the podcast might be getting binned?

I just listened to this weeks and came here to post the same. I wonder the reasons for this.simonwalsh wrote:Sounds like the podcast might be getting binned?

Out of interest, how would he have been making money from the podcast? There are no advertising or ways to moneterise it that I can see

It's an ESPN production, isn't it? I just assumed Bunce would be paid a fee for each episode by them, presumably it drives a certain amount of traffic to their website.tobyh5 wrote:I just listened to this weeks and came here to post the same. I'd have thought this also. I would guess they're either binning the podcast or making it very short, and doing videos and crap like that instead to get more people onto ESPN's website than on iTunes.Boxerbeetle wrote:It's an ESPN production, isn't it? Which is pretty annoying for those of us who listen whilst doing other stuff and don't have time to sit and watch a video.

The Next Big Pod, or whatever they call themselves now pee me off for thissimonwalsh wrote:

I like to listen on iTunes as I can do it on the move - headphones in and do it while walking around the house, cleaning, walking the dog, driving around etc and can also use my phone for other things like online banking, facebook, work stuff, sending texts etc as Itunes podcasts continue to play even if on other apps.
Via YouTube is a pain in the arse. It uses more battery and bandwith, needs a stronger connection and you cannot do anything else. If a text comes in to my phone, I have to stop YouTube, reply, then go back and driving around listening flattens the shite out of my battery.
They need to sort this, I am sure it will cost listeners and I often miss them as I cannot be arsed due to the above

Re: Bunce...
Same, though judging by Sky moving to mainly online content and now this being suggested or hinted at, seems we're in the minority. Hopefully another good podcast comes to the fore. Because if they do go to a 5-10 minute podcast which just advertises their videos, I won't be listening.tobyh5 wrote:The Next Big Pod, or whatever they call themselves now pee me off for thissimonwalsh wrote:

They upload the episodes within 24 hours of the live broadcasttobyh5 wrote:

Legend! I could not find it which is a total puzzle as there it is!
Re: Bunce...
Given there are no signs of the excellent Bunce podcast coming back, did anybody on here hear anything about why they binned it and whether it will be back at all? Shame it is gone because whatever you think of Bunce, they did a great job of getting top guests on the show.
I'm guessing they probably didn't have any more than 100-200 regular listeners/downloaders.

Re: Bunce...
I’ve always found him to be fair and approachable, and he will respond if you ask him for advice or anything else. The only time I had a run in was when he thought I’d jumped the gun over a story. We sorted it out over the phone and he was cool about it in the end.
I recently got a phone call offering me the opportunity to do something that could help raise my profile (I’ve been told I have to be more proactive when it comes to that type of thing). I agreed to it then asked how they got my details, it turns out that Buncey had recommended me and his recommendation obviously carried a bit of weight.
It was a total surprise, I’ve only met him in person once and was dying for a piss so I probably seemed a bit rude as he was chatting away and I practically ran off to the bogs.

Still has the less regular William Hill podcast, not quite the same though: https://feeds.feedburner.com/williamhil ... castboxingjohnswan1 wrote:Given there are no signs of the excellent Bunce podcast coming back, did anybody on here hear anything about why they binned it and whether it will be back at all?
