Khan and Floyd get in shouting match at fight Saturday Night
Khan and Floyd get in shouting match at fight Saturday Night
It has been reported by several outlets that Amir Khan and Floyd got into it while sitting next to each other Saturday night at the Guerrero/Garcia fight. From all counts, Floyd started the trouble by looking back at Khan rubbing his face into the fact that Garcia beat him. This was at a point in the fight where most people had Garcia down in the fight (somewhere within the first 5 rounds). I think that was why Floyd mentioned that he had Guerrero winning the fight when interviewed, just to rub Khan's face into it even more. Here's a link with more details about the confrontation.

Do you think that this was staged by Floyd to go out of his way to get into an exchange like this or is just all to do about nothing? Like most things seem to be when it comes to Khan and his big mouth. It certainly didn't sound very convincing when Floyd was asked about staying retired, that for sure. For the first time, I really do think Floyd will come back for number 50 now.

It does sound as if Floyd is on the fence about coming back for the number 50 but that crap with Khan is the same crap that made Amir lose his chance of ever getting a fight with Mayweather. Khan has a big mouth for a guy with a glass chin, and he should've learned his lesson from talking ish when he ran his trap so much that he came off as disrespectful instead of competitive which is why Floyd told him no.caldo2025 wrote:It has been reported by several outlets that Amir Khan and Floyd got into it while sitting next to each other Saturday night at the Guerrero/Garcia fight. They have the convo on line. It seemed like a respectful convo. Khan asking why Floyd won't take the fight and Floyd basically saying Khan hadn't done enough. It wasn't a stage convo they was just in a close area so the convo would naturally happen.

Mayweather makes himself a target by showing up at welterweight title fights. Which fuels speculation. Khan has been calling out Mayweather for years. Recently I read somewheres that Mayweather got into it with his buddy Broner too.

This is video of some of the back and forth.
Not the whole thing, but it doesn't sound like Khan is shutting anyone up here...

Just another instance where folks tried to say things happened one way when in fact they happened another way.verballistic wrote:Great video!!koolkc107 wrote:This is video of some of the back and forth.

Boxing needs more theater like that. Toward the end, it looked like Floyd was having a pretty serious conversation with Richard Schafer, but you couldnt hear what they were saying.
IMO Floyd shut his begging ass down, totally disrespected Khan.
But, here is how Khan thought that went. It is proof Amir is completely out of touch with reality.

It seemed to be a friendly encounter. It's not like either fighter left there seat and had to be separated. Neither fighter appeared to be shouting.koolkc107 wrote:Just another instance where folks tried to say things happened one way when in fact they happened another way.verballistic wrote:Great video!!koolkc107 wrote:This is video of some of the back and forth.

Sorry, I totally disagree.verballistic wrote:Boxing needs more theater like that. Toward the end, it looked like Floyd was having a pretty serious conversation with Richard Schafer, but you couldnt hear what they were saying.
The NFL didn't get where it was because of T.O. It's there because the owners colluded to improve the overall product.
The NBA isn't where it is because of drama. It's there because you KNEW Jordan would play the Knicks and Magic would play Bird.
The only thing boxing needs is the best fights possible.
Regardless of social media and whatever, the only thing that will keep this SPORT going is the SPORT.
If people want to see arguments, boxing cannot compete with what's on the market.
So let's stop all this "all attention is good" crap. If you want BOXING to be better, the only thing the sport needs more of is, boxing.
Re: Khan and Floyd get in shouting match at fight Saturday Night
If Khan is fighting in early March, shouldn't he be picking an opponent soon? I think Errol Spence is available.... ![[icon_knockout.gif] :KO:](./images/smilies/icon_knockout.gif)
Re: Khan and Floyd get in shouting match at fight Saturday Night
I'm sure he really fancies that one , but does Spence deserve his shot against such a legend of the ringBadhusker wrote:If Khan is fighting in early March, shouldn't he be picking an opponent soon? I think Errol Spence is available....

True
Khan would offer 99%/1% offer to Spence, but Spence is so far out of Khan's league he doesn't even deserve that.

I laugh at idiots like Judah Ben Fur who seems to think he's some Genie with a crystal ball that can peer into one's future and ASSume that he knows what a fighter is going to do without being in that fighter's circle of friends.
It would be great if Floyd came back, he can still beat all of the WWs and even the majority of fighters from WW to MW.
