Oldest someone started and turned am
And how good did they turn out?
Re: Oldest someone started and turned am
I think Martin Rogan was 28 or 29 when he started. He went pretty far in the ams and pros.

Derrick Jefferson didn't start boxing until he was 24; he became national champion a few years later and then a professional fringe-contender who was in some exciting fights. Sergio Martinez and Deontay Wilder didn't start until 20.
I know of people who had started boxing and competing in their 40s, but not anyone generally recognizable to boxing fans.
