I don't think he's that to be fair, he seems to be one of the satisfied boxers who have retired not bitter.
I meant about Brook not getting his payday, not his own career. How anyone could criticise Khan for this is beyond me. He's going up in weight to fight a better fighter than Brook and it wouldn't surprise me if he got paid more too. The fight against Brook will always be there for him whenever he wants it.

Did not see this coming! Fair play to Khan. Brook now must chase a big name after Bizier. Bradley or Thurman.

If khan somehow pulled this off imagine the potential matchups that could be made that would've previously been laughable, golovkin, Saunders, lee and Eubank could all be future khan foes !!!

I actually fancy he chances in this, I know I shouldn't but I do :o
I don't think it would be a huge, huge upset but I've never really been sold on Canelo as truly elite. He's arguably one of the worst recent 'superstars' of the sport.

Really looking forward to this one though. I enjoy watching both fight

Will Khan get as much money for this as Eddie was offering him for the Brook fight ?

I have to go for a Canelo ko really, can't see any other result as he will surely be so much bigger and stronger than Khan, who has struggled with far more inferior opponents lately,i'm actually shocked as this is one fight i thought just couldn't happen for so many reasons, fair play to Khan though, shows he has a big pair, which we knew anyway, fast car will be green lol

You too, eh?

Khan would have to box out of his skin but Canelo is a stumpy little bloke and despite his weight I don't think he'll do well against true middleweights. It's essentially a LMW fight so it's not THAT huge a jump in weight for Amir...

He can do it. Stranger things have happened. It's possible.

Truly did not see this one coming!

Wonder how much Khan is getting for this - can't see it being as much as for a Brook PPV and more chance of being splattered. Can't fault the lads courage.

From Canelo though, this is poor. He clearly wants nothing to do with a real middleweight, despite being the 160lb "champ".

When was the last time the WBC Middleweight was actually contested at the proper weight?

I think I love you, Amir Khan.

Also, gonna pile on with Nightmare & clopixolacuphase: Canelo's short-armed, one-paced, stumpy & pedestrian. He will have at least twenty pounds on Khan come fight night (if Amir does this "sensible", not that anything about this fight is sensible but you know what I mean) & three times the firing power but I would be surprised but not actually shocked were Khan to pull this off.

Khan will get knocked out in brutal fashion I think but fair play for taking the fight.

Think you're right. Clearly the WBC love a big name.

I like the way Khan has called this a contest for the "WBC 155lbs title" too, although that will give Mauricio ideas..

Just read this on sky app. Like most folk on here I was shocked! Had to read the post twice! Not Khans biggest fan but fair play here. The pessimist in me is thinking that I was right all along and he was just chasing one last big pay day. Canelo in Vegas is the next best thing after May or Pac financially. Real risky fight though and personally I think it's suicide but time will tell.

Do people honestly think Khan gets less for this fight than he would fighting Brook? This will be PPV in the US, they'll both make mega money. The U.K. PPV earnings will be the icing on a fat cake!

Canelo will be making major bucks, but Khan is hardly a PPV attraction in the USA. We don't know this will be PPV over here yet. Don't get me wrong, Khan will be getting a nice cheque, but I suspect he could have earned more if he took the Brook fight. I could well be wrong.

Ideal scenario is a Canelo win but with Khan giving a good account of himself. Canelo will have to fight GGG next up and Khan still has the option of a Brook fight (even at 154) providing this fight isn't his retirement fund. Obviously I will be supporting Khan on the night being a staunch British boxing fan but I am just thinking ahead.

:oo. Wow!
Well, no one can call Khan a coward.

brook vs whatever the guys name is looks even more of a joke now.

But it is bad for the middleweight division, hopefully the winner is forced to face Ggg at 160 or vacate.
