Re: Pros who boxed unlicensed ?
Paul Hilz & couple lads from down Essex have all boxed on the white collar (unlicensed) circuit especially at the circus tavern down there which is a Mecca for the unlicensed boxing before turning pro, Lennox Clarke & Manny Zaber in the Midlands, both Blackwell brothers I believe have and few others, to many to name, plus lots have boxed after retiring from the pro ranks, Dom Negus, Kid Milo, Andy Cosnett must of had 300 plus white collar fights after retiring from pro's, the list is endless really

Re: Pros who boxed unlicensed ?
In Mike Tysons book he states that he had smokers which were bouts in the gym with people smoking around them. These were unofficial and not recorded by amateur governing bodies at the time. So essentially unlicensed

"Tough man" the REF Curtis Thrasher...I am Friendship with during my stay up in Alaska ('86, & '87). He told me he once lost a "tough man" fight by a decision to (none other than) Greg Haugen....that's "unlicenced".

How does "bare nuckle" work - do they wear bandages?billy bessey wrote:mickey1975 wrote:Bennett is a bare knuckle champ now, isn't he?billy bessey wrote:I'm helping run a charity night in Hartlepool of unlicensed boxing which ex commonwealth champion Kevin Bennett is fighting on also unbeaten Craig Denton ex featherweight James Rooney and our very own ...............
Not a champion he's 2-0 in it I went up to Nottingham to watch him the other month I was surprised at how well run and how good the crowd was. Bare knuckle boxing is definitely on the way up
Also, do they have proper rounds over a set distance etc.
Do these fights happen in a ring or are they more like the YouTube vids in fields and car parks?
