I LOVE this fight! LOVE IT. But i do hate the fact that it's set to be at 155lbs. We have the same damn situation now that we had with Cotto holding this belt. I can't stand that or the fact that Boxing doesn't step in and make this right. The Boxers are bigger than the powers that are supposed to legislate it and that's what is sad about the sport.

But the weight aside, I LOVE THIS fight. Khan, if you can believe it or not, will definitely be the fastest boxer that Canelo has faced. Yes, he's faster than Floyd and he's faster than Erislandy. This is a throwback type of fight and whether you realize it or not, it's a SUPERFIGHT. Good for Canelo for continuing to take tough fights. No showcase fights like Cotto had or how all these other champs are doing with their newly won straps. Good for Canelo.

What's going on here is obvious. Khan is sick of the Floyd and Pac run around and realizes those fights are never happening so he's saying F it - gimme the next biggest $ fight out there. If he loses what does he really lose? He can just go back down in weight and say Canelo was too big but earn respect by saying "see I will fight anybody". Shrewd play here by Khan. Huge payday and a potential windfall if he wins. And if he loses - so what, he's supposed to lose.

My concern with Canelo fighting at 155 has nothing to do with the Khan matchup but the impending hurdle it will represent during the GGG negotiations. There's no way GGG will come down to 155 for that fight. 158? Maybe. I was just hoping that Canelo would bring some legitimacy back to the MW championship and I guess that's out the window with picking a Welterweight for his first defense though. Canelo and GGG will never happen the way this is going with these funky weight limits.
