Super heavyweight division
No. To do so, is accepting that a 190 lb. heavyweight will never again win the heavyweight title. I am not yet ready to do that. Roy Jones had his way with John Ruiz. I just wish Jones had been ready to press the envelope, but he wanted no part of Lennox.
I have always loved when the great light hwt. champs stepped up to the challenge. Ketchel, Carpentier, Loughran, J. H. Lewis, Conn, Moore, Foster, Spinks. It may be asking a bit much for a natural L.H. champ to challenge a heavyweight champion to-day. I would be sorry if this rich
tradition ended. As Archie Moore said when he fought Rocky. I am a champion , too.

I'd ban him from boxing. That's what I'm saying... There should be a cut off point. Real fans don't want to watch some freak show lumber all over the place.BrocktonBlockbuster49 wrote:what about valuev? with his height and build, do u think he can get under 300lb?DoubleM wrote:Personally, I think they should make a cut-off point in the heavyweight division, a weight limit. I have two views. I think guys are getting bigger these days and are getting fitter. I have always thought they should have a superheavyweight division. But then I think of Holyfield, one of the greatest HW, beating guys 2-3 stone ever than him. I think an upper limit is better. Valuev is a freak so you won't get many of him. But an upper limit will at least stop some fat, lazy guy making a bit of cash getting beat up.
Woah - bigger, yes, but not fitter. Would you call Lennox Lewis, Hasim Rahman, Nicolay Valuev, fitter than Rocky Marciano or Joe Frazier?Arsenal wrote:I have two views. What I meant was for their size they are fitter. In the past anyone past 17 stone was just a bum. Now guys are coming in very big but who are fitter. I can see your point. Fighters of the past fought over 15 rounds. But Marciano and Frazier were smaller than the guys you named. However I would disagree about Lewis. Although I am bias. I think he would outbox and then win by a late stoppage over Frazier and Marciano. Valuev and Rahman are just HW boxers. But with Lewis you are talking about one the best HW in history. So IMO a big strong Lewis ,with his skills would be too much for Frazier and Marciano. But to be honest you always have boxers who love to train and those who don't.
Fit??? how many heavyweight fights have you watched recently?.... they are usually worn out after 3 or 4 rounds.... thats not my definition of fitness. How could Lewis beat Frazier when he was koed by the likes of Mccall and Rahman?.... thats a ludicrous statement!....Arsenal wrote:What I meant was for their size they are fitter. Lewis
I could easily Lewis beating Frazier. I don't really see anything odd about picking Lewis to beat Frazier.

I think the time has come that the 175 to 190 lb. division ( Cuiserweight }
if you will, become as accepted a division, as any of the others. It may be recognized in theory, but it doesn't sell. Promoters don't want anything to do with it, for the most part. Really, It is up to the paying public . What do you think ?
