A pity hes only getting himself out there now, if he would of fought against afew above average fighters like dickens in the last couple years just for the exposure alone it might have helped get him the big money fights with the likes of frampton santa cruz and quigg, instead of just waiting for them to come to him and fighting once a year. :bag:

Wow, arguably Rigo's worst opponent in several years, and that's saying something with all the stiffs he's been fighting lately.

He's better than two of his last three opponents.

I would say his worst for a few years. Francisco was decent, Amasa too, The Thai is one of those with an inflated record, hard to say if he is better than James Dickens, both are not good enough really, neither was the Ghanaian bantam, Agbeko he was a name but right at the end of his career just looking for a fight.

James Dickens has beaten one fighter in the top 100. Disgrace really if that gets you a world title shot but sometimes they ain't even got to do that.

Is he? He's got zero power, been KO'd once already, has never faced anyone particularly good, and struggled to hold onto his British title in his last defense. I don't see anything that makes him definitively better than Kokietgym or Francisco.

Let's not get our knickers in a twist.
See this for what it is. Rigo's career has badly stalled, been stripped of titles and he's got zero interest in America. He's no spring chicken and is at risk of letting supreme talent go to waste if he doesn't get the finger out
He's obviously looking to get his face recognised in the UK where 2 of the best opponents are and he will be looking to build up a fight with Quigg or Frampton.

I for one am delighted to have such a talented boxer come to the UK. Jazza is no world beater and as it's not a title fight there's no point getting bent out of shape about the weak opposition. He's on an under card in a keep busy type fight to showcase his skills to try and nail down the big fights.
He has to have keep busy fights and try and sell himself for exactly that reason, he can't get the big fights. He's too much risk for too little reward for most fighters.

Anyway, don't you know the UK is the place to be in boxing these days?

Ideally yes, but Frampton is with Haymon now and Quigg is with Eddie Hearn. I don't really see how appearing on the undercard of a minor Frank (allegedly) Warren card fighting a no-hoper is going to get him significantly closer to either of those fights.

Frampton's with Haymon for US fights only, still with McGuigan for those and the rest of the world. It isn't a minor card, saying that shows you know absolutely nothing about boxing in this country.

I must not, since Flanagan vs. Mathews in no way seems like a "big" main event to me, and there's no other significant fights on the card.

Domestic world title fight and Liverpool v Manchester, 50-50 for Commonwealth title, 50-50 for English title, P4P fighter and the best to come to this country in over a decade, plus another world class fighter in Tete, then the rest of the undercard. Won't be many better shows this year and there won't be many with bigger crowds either.

Domestic world title fight ... with a champ who's a -600 favorite and a challenger who may not even be top 5 in his weight class in his own country.

I find it very hard to believe this will be one of the biggest UK boxing cards of the year.
