What is macklins role in this? did Mackin knowingly get involved with these criminals? It seems like his name is what legitimizes the mgm outfit? Can anyone explain?

Macklin is the licensed promoter and manager, he's the face of the operation and the gym is named after him. In reality Daniel Kinahan appears to be in charge and providing the financial backing. Serious questions have to be asked of Macklin in all of this.

Matthew is an exciting fighter to follow and apparently is a sociable and popular man on a night out. Some of the gangsters are a similar age and look up to him. It looks like they helped out with a bit of funding for the MGM gym. I wonder in Boxing Monthly will add an edit to the feature they ran a couple of months ago?

How much sponsorship money do IFL get from that gym? Should they reconsider their choice? Maybe they think it gives them street cred? Maybe it does?
