Stevenson (Lineal) vs Kovalev (Consensus)

Post by bnovelist »

I know MOST are picking Kovalev as the favorite due to his recent activity but keep in mind Stevenson has the SAME punching power effect as

90-91' version of Tyson koing Tillis, Stewart, and Ruddock! :box: :box: :box: :box: :box: :box: :box:

Stevenson's punching power sends shockwaves knocking you 5-6ft backwards like WTF :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO:

KOvalev has stinging hard accumilitive ko power :box:

This fight will be decided on in the 1st who looks uncomfortable when tagged :OhYes:

50/50 fight! Ward should get a shot at the winner of these two it will sell much better!

Ward challenging for the lineal belt.

Again Stevenson has the same ko power as 90-91 TYSON BONE CRUSHING KO PWER IF HE LANDS FLUSH :KO:

I don't really know who will win this but I would love to find out ASAP that's why its bullsh.t its not on today its a fight that a lot of question's will be answered both have devastating power SK got that huge reach also.... but he forgets a bit about his defence when he
starts to land his power shot's probably because he knows that his chin is reliable and has not let him down lately if ever :KO: but
I want to see what happens when AS hits him[SK] flush on the chin with one of his bomb's what will happen when they trade............
but waiting for the press conference to announce the fight is like doing this :brick:

Still smoking that good shit, I see, bnovelist, must be some A-side meth. It's been seven fights and nearly three years ago since he landed that one big punch, so how do you back up your claim that he is as powerful as prime Mike Tyson?

As for him being the 'lineal' champ, how can he even be called a divisional champ when he wont even fight the man holding most of the belts, don't you see that in these circumstances when he wont fight the widely regarded champ, that lineal doesn't mean anything?

I too would love to see Stevenson vs Kovolev but it's not a 50/50 fight IMO, Lovolev is by far the better boxer and Stevenson hasn't managed to land that straight left as effectively as he did against Dawson since. Not only that, it looks like this fight will never happen and that's why Ward isn't fighting the winner of it.

Stevenson certainly doesn't hit as hard as Prime Tyson or even close to it, and I personally think Kovalev would kick his ass rather easily because he's a way better fighter IMO.

Beterbiev would kick Stevenson's ass too.

You see the problem is Stevenson can be behind on rounds and land the one big punch to change the course of the fight. That was the first time

I've ever seen Bika down and really truely hurt Stevenson punches like Tyson circa 90-91 on his comeback trail. You know the way his punches

sounds.. :box: They remind me of Tyson trying to avenge his loss to Douglas! :box: :box: :box: :box:

On paper we go with Kovalev because he's been the more active but man Adonis can really punch and when I mean PUNCH I'm talking about the

type of power he can trail 4-5 rounds then BAM :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO: :KO:

Now he's back in the fight! :box: Just when you think the fight is one sided he lands that crushing blow :KO: :box: :bag:

Kovalev's style is he has to start working like Marvin Hagler to have any chance  I Love Kovalev nothing bad to say about him why would I???

But Adonis is FREAK. If I were a lazy fighter I'd want Adonis's power. I don't care what anyone says his that f@cker punches like pre-rape trial

Tyson. :OhYes:

Granted, Stevenson does have genuine one punch knockout type power and that will always make him a danger to Kovolev to say he is as powerful as prime Tyson, c'mon? I think Kovolev would start as clear favourite if they fight, and rightly so. Kovolev is keeping busy fighting all the fighters Stevenson should be fighting, Kovolev is the true champion at LHW.

I think it is telling that Beterbiev knocked back the fight with Kovolev while Stevenson knocked back the fight with Beterbiev. It's a shame that the Stevenson- Kovolev fight can't seem to get made as I think it would be a very interesting, very exciting fight.

Don't forget JUST :OhYes:  :OhYes:  2months ago Kovalev was ALL SMILES  when approached by Adonis at ringside like he seen a

childhood friend  Ask him about Andre Ward he quickly says another day take your time

Then starts to insult Stevenson to stear the focus from Ward

My 2cents Kovalev is the REAL champion. He's active :box: he's KO's everyone :KO: nothing to be said Kovalev is doing everthing that asks of a

champion but you can tell he fears both Ward and Kovalev especially Andre Ward. You ask Kovalev about a showdown with Ward he'll respond saying

he will like to "Screw Stevenson's Sister" to shift the focus from Ward ANTHING to get off the subject of Ward  Wanna fight Ward???

"Yes I Would Like To Participate Orgy Chickenson Stevenson's Sister & Mother In The Same Night"

Sh@t I guess Kovalev figures he has a better shot of getting hit by young Tyson and surviving than rather than getting outclassed EVERY ROUND

by a Mayweather realm type of fighter like Ward       that fight he'd lose rounds 1-12

with a 1 or 2 occasional stun then back to a boring shutout       Rounds 1-12 he will lose against lose

so yes an "Orgy With Stevenson's God Mother" will be better!

All I am saying when asked about Ward he shifted that focus to Stevenson really fast! Just 2 months ago he was all smiles to Adonis when approached

whatever.

Stevenson has more of a chance than Ward vs Kovalev, but still doesn't have much of a chance.

It's not a 50 / 50 fight at all. Kovalev is a league above Stevenson. Kovalev KO's Stevenson.

I think Kovalev highlights that Stevenson is an above average fighter.

The "lineal" title here seem a fabrication based on the RJJ line, surely the actual line, if there is one, goes from Dariusz?

Well, yes, Dariusz (how do you pronounce his last name?) did beat Virgil Hill in that unification fight, he then promptly lost to Zolt Erdi who then moved up to cruiserweight....anyhoo, the so called 'lineal title' means nothing these days, what with catch weight title fights and so called champions being able to avoid the top challengers for their entire title reigns.

I used to think this was close to a 50/50 fight, but at this point I would be completely shocked if kovalev didn't knock Stevenson out in 4 or 5 rounds. Fonfara (who doesn't have much power) had him hurt. That doesn't bode well for when kovelev lands. Add in the fact that kovalev has genuine hate for Stevenson, I think it could be pretty nasty.

Adonis's power makes him dangerous but I think Kovalev is more complete and would probably knock him out.

Stevenson is a powerful but somewhat limited fighter. Kovalev picks him apart.

Ridiculous. You can't be serious. There's a reason why Adonis has cowered out of this matchup twice now. You think a 39 year old guy who got knocked down by Fonfara two years ago is going to somehow find a way to beat this animal? You are delirious. It's a safe prediction you make because Adonis won't ever have the stones to sign the contract.

Imagine how pathetic a person must be to back out of a fight with someone and then the NEXT WEEK storm the ring at the guys postfight interview to talk shiit. LOL. I mean, come on. That was literally the most pathetic thing I've ever seen in the sport. The best part was how no one was holding him back but he pretended they were...LMAO.

You need some meds.

Way I see it ... Stevenson looks like a fighter that's waiting for a big payday and his lottery ticket is Kovalev, unless something miraculous happens and he fights Ward where does he go apart from that.

Stevenson is nowhere near the level of punching power of Tyson and while I see that Adonis has decent boxing ability at this point I can say that the longer he waits for Kova i think the worse it'll be for him because Sergey keeps improving.

About 1-2 years back I would've easily given this bout to Stevenson but Kovalev is just doing so many things right now and not that many wrong in that squared circle that it is hard to imagine someone just outboxing him, they still have to risk getting in and they'd have to get past his power and now that he's throwing that left hook more, better in timing with it and more accurately I'd say they'd pay a heavy price trying to step in on him.

The two things I think Kova still needs to work on is his defense and he needs to learn how to step to the side as a fighter is coming forward on him and throw the uppercut, see what I'm talking about here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScRv9xzLeW8

If he learns this and Adonis comes rushing in then we know what happens to him.

Don't forget that Fonfara had Stevenson falling all over the floor when they fought. Krusher wins that fight easy.
