I recently read a book that claims it was a very well known past boxer,
A little quiz then...who said it...and to make it a little easier this boxer held the record for being outweighed by the most in a professional boxing fight.
Barry is correct, I have seen both men credited with originating that phrase. In the case of Fitzsimmons, I believe he was quoted just before his title defense against Jim Jeffries.

After that bout I'm sure Fitz realized a new saying: "The bigger the tree, the harder it is to chop down".

Correct
By a claimed 140lb difference
Not sure if Fitz is made to look good or bad by this really....Dunkhorst must have been a good stone over his usual weight....and whilst it is a wild guess I would imagine at his usual `best weight` he would resemble Eric Esch....I`m sure somebody out there can pull a pic up of Ed Dunkhorst, I`d like to be proved wrong
