I've been scathing in Brook's reign as champion but in all honesty, I do feel for him. Hearn has badly mismanaged his career and he's now Chairman of the 'Who Needs Him' Club.

I have no idea where he goes from here.

To get a big fight he'll need to give away the lion's share of the purse, in a fight he might lose. Unfortunately, that's the only way I see him opening up his earning potential.

Champion or not, with Dan, Gavin and Bizier as his last three fights he is not relevant at the moment. He needs to roll the dice and park any ego about his earnings that he might have. Otherwise it'll be a wasted career and a wasted talent - because he can clearly fight.

I have no sympathy for Brook whatsoever. If he isn't happy then he should change promoter or give up his belt. Most boxers dream of becoming a World champion, and Kell has done that. Whether he has that belt or not, he has solidified a place in history. The battle now is to become someone who didn't just win a title, but became one of the best in the division. Despite beating Porter to become the champ, he is probably further down the pecking order than he is.

The welterweight division is full of very good fighters so it staggers me that Brook can't get a fight with any of them.

I'd have thought they'd jump at the chance of winning a world title trinket.

Must say I wouldn't describe Brook vs Porter as a cracker.

Agreed. It was very close porter never done himself justice that night. But brook was better. Hearn has had little option but to provide knockovers given the situation in the canaries. They slag khan for chasing the money but they want the same thing!

Brook is so jealous of Khan, he is 6 months older than Khan, and yet nobody in the States knows who the clown is!!! He has only fought one World Class fighter in his WHOLE career, Shawn Porter, and that was a very close fight. Khan has fought loads of World Class guys, and he has now got a mega money superfight with Canelo at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on May 7th. Khan is making "mega-bucks", Brook is making no money, even his "payday" against Porter was low, and all Brook does is put the Boxing audience to "sleep" by continuing to fight bums, journeyman, and European level fighters in Sheffield. LOL, one of the most OVERRATED fighters in Boxing. End of.

Supercool
Brook is making no money ?
Really ?
Stop talking out of your arse.
Brook needs the title to tempt others.
To make those fights happen his Promoter needs to back it financially.
Clearly that's not happening for whatever reason so maybe it is time to move to pastures new.
However I do agree the "who wants him" tag applies for Kell. The money argument is a perfect foil when in reality you just don't want the fight.
Lets see what the summer brings. I agree it's got to be a real headliner or its time to get a plane over to the States get a new promoter and risk all.

I don't go along with the 'who needs him' tag, its up to his manager, promoter and the boxer to get a higher profile.
Get off the 'poor me' headlines all the time, casual fans end up bored of that.
Brook needs to do a good job against Bizier, then get out there and self promote himself as well, quit moaning about what should or could happen.

People will box him, but will want good money to come here. It's up to Camp Eddie, but I can see him fighting in the states again soon.

Brook has got a title and is a solid fighter but not so devastating that other world class boxers would be shy of Boxing him. Bizier is the third 'soft' opponent in a row, he needs a very good opponent next time out and if he can't get big money for it he'll still need to fight for him to retain respectability. I think in some respects there is an element of unreality about how much money a world champion should make per fight. If a boxer faces soft opposition he and his camp shouldn't expect big money, if he boxes in exciting fights against dangerous opponents he can earn big money. It seems simple and logical to me and its been frustrating watching a talented boxer try to blag his way into a big fight without doing the necessary work.

Since losing to Brook, Porter has beaten Broner & is now scheduled to fight Thurman. Certainly puts Dan/Gavin/Bizier in perspective...

And you get the impression that if Porter lost to Thurman he'd be back in with someone good within 6 months.

Hi, Specialist :TU: good find but shouldn't Floyd be expected to know who Brook is? I'd say he would argue black is white to further his own agenda.

Bizier is no pushover, he beat an undefeated boxer to get the title opportunity in the first place but if this is happening in England and knowing how Brook fights, I'd back Brook to finish the fight before the final rounds.
