He has earned it and has had to come back from severe knockout losses to do it. No matter what you think of him as a boxer and a person that takes some doing and it takes some character. It also takes some real courage and conviction to move to the states to train and box out of his comfort zone.

those things come with the territory of earning an olympic medal.

Really ?
Stop talking out of your arse.
Brook needs the title to tempt others.
To make those fights happen his Promoter needs to back it financially.
Clearly that's not happening for whatever reason so maybe it is time to move to pastures new.
However I do agree the "who wants him" tag applies for Kell. The money argument is a perfect foil when in reality you just don't want the fight.
Lets see what the summer brings. I agree it's got to be a real headliner or its time to get a plane over to the States get a new promoter and risk all.
Del, is this you?

He won the title by beating Porter which was a fantastic display abroad to win the title.

You can't blame him getting the easy defence out of the way and the Gavin fight was understandable as it was good pay for a domestic fight which was viewed by the camp as a warm up.

The problem was that after those 3 fights his career needed a C level opponent to boost his name. He didn't need a super fight but someone credible that would be his second best win behind Porter.

The Rios and Chaves names were perfect options as he beats them easy, gets paid, increases US profile as both would of been played stateside (especially Rios which was the fight I favoured).

I have no reason why they couldn't of made a C level fight for him. Get rid of the other easy mandatory then it makes a Thurman or Garcia match a lot bigger and easier to make.
Managed correctly his post Porter record should of been
Dan, Gavin, Rios, Bizier, Thurman and Khan.

That's a good run of fights that covers every base regarding financial, mandatory and legacy.

Without that Rios fight The likes of Thurman look a million miles away and realistically he's lost 9 months of his career.

Nobody knows who Brook is. I've still not got round to ever watching him fight and I quite like boxing. He's spent his entire career hidden away on Sky (maybe allegedly for a bit?) and to my knowledge has had no mainstream television coverage at all. It's a shame because he must be good, but Amir is right to be making whopping big split demands and looking for bigger fish. Not sure who his manager is but they should be trying harder than they are to build his profile.

Brook Vs Bizier. I wanted to vote for "who cares" but it wasn't an option.

This is an awful fight and another poo mandatory from the IBF,Bizier will give it a go but he's gonna be even more outgunned than Dan,i'd be surprised if he makes it into the 5th round, unless Brook's a bit rusty he might take a little longer but i think the KO's inevitable

Bizier will come with some ambition after his last win. Good win for him and will boost his confidence. He will no doubt have the ambition punched out of him in three rounds though. Kell is on a level above these type of guys and after Saturday he needs a big fight. Bradley (wether he wins or loses against Manny) would be ideal as would the Thurman/Porter winner. Errol Spence is nearing mandatory status with the IBF so that could be one to look at too. Would love to see him lamp Garcia too. That would be a cracker. Plenty of names there and plenty of fights and money to be made.

I like Brook, but the problem is that he fights twice a year in recent years and one of those will always be a mandatory that no one cares about, so how does he entice a big name off the back of the likes of Ion and Bizier?

Agreed, and I don't imagine Brook can be particularly happy with his current situation. It must be really hard to get properly motivated for this kind of fight.

Only one way to fix it. Brook needs interesting fights, Eddie wants PPVs without forking out dosh on a decent opponent......

Brook v Eddie Hearn ......PPV.

Problems solved. I'd pay to watch.
