Mgm uk England shows

Post by 1 nut »

Very much like most people will be shocked at y'day events and looking for forthcoming scheduled shows the is one on 20th Feb in Preston with mgm and Scotland 27th
What will folkes do ? Surely such violent gangsters have resources and capabilities to hit in England .
What will board of control do ?
Will people just attend ? Im not going these but if I was I'd be on the sofa with a bag of crisp and a scotch instead

I suspect anyone who might be at risk will keep themselves well away from high profile boxing shows, where they can be 'got at'

Doubt there will be any trouble at these shows

Personally speaking, I won't be touching any MGM shows with a bargepole.

Just don't sit too close to the hard looking dudes ringside who seem to know all the boxers.

I don't think there will be a hint of trouble at any outside Dublin.

Dublin and Spain should probably be avoided. We'll be fine here.

We just have to dodge the football idiots and coke heads.

Its their boring monologues that get on my tits.

But not as much as when their mate isn't boxing and they're up and down like yo yos having conversations with other mates ten rows back and then act hard when you tell them to shut up and sit down because they're off their nut, in a big group that they feel would back them up and think because they went to the gym and saw their mate sparring they would sort me out.

That gets right on my tits.

Don't get me started on the women that mince around & never see a punch thrown as they are too busy taking selfies.

In fairness they are good on the eye though.

I think id rather go to an MBC show than a MGM less likely of getting seriously hurt for no reason whatsoever.

The board turning a blind eye to Europes biggest drug gang signing a load of fighters surpasses anything the MBC have ever done!

:salut: very good point and without wanting to be a twat, it puts the profile of DK in Boxing Monthly into stark relief.

What are they supposed to do about it? Daniel Kinahan doesn't hold any license with the board, Matthew Macklin is the registered manager of those fighters, they can't take his managers license away. Unless they can prove the connection between Kinahan and MGM, and that he's a senior member of a major drug gang, there's very little they can do without opening themselves up to the possibility of being sued for libel. Since no police force or prosecutor has yet been able to prove what many suspect about the Kinahan's, I doubt the board are going to be able to.

Ha ha, I knew you would have said that - I could write your scripts!

Now, if these people were bankrolling the MBC I am sure you would have a different opinion.

Opinion would be the same both ways, I'd be glad to see the back of them. All I'm saying is that with the current situation it would be very difficult for the board to do anything about them with them using Macklin as a frontman and the lack of evidence beyond rumour and hearsay.

I guess that there is not a "fit and proper person" test in boxing, similar to what has been introduced in football?

Do you think that the board should introduce such measures?

If so, then why don't they ? - they make the rules in this country, surely they could do this if they wanted to?

When you say "the current situation" it is the board who have created the current situation, and it is the board that can change that situation if they want to.

Anyone applying for a license has to go through an interview with their area council, I'd guess that's the boxing version of it. The problem is that Macklin would pass it without a problem, he's held licenses with the board for close to 15 years, no criminal record, intelligent, knows the business well, overall he's not far off the perfect applicant.

Wasn't he arrested not too long ago I'm Dublin for a drunken incident? And it's hardly heresay when license holders get shot leaving people's houses etc. The board do what they want, they can make up an excuse to ban them if they want like they have with others many times. Pat Barrett wasn't allowed in a corner for years based on rumours, or colour, depending on who you listened to at the time.

Very windy again today Micky you best off going outside ans urinating in the street. Your trying to put your opinion over against tye paragon of virtue board. An example of an example, a bit like a high court judge and his standards.

The fit and proper person test in football is hardly the example to set, although I echo your statement. Look at Roman and the City owners...money talks and buys you credibility with any board.
