Johann Duhaupas vs Robert Helenius is a credible fight given the fact that Helenius is working his way back in after the long layoff.
Luis Ortiz vs Tony Thompson is a good profile fight and could land a significant title fight this year for the Cuban.
A couple of decent heavyweight matches

So is Ortiz-TT official? I like TT, but he'll have nothing to keep Ortiz off of him at this point.
The other one's also a fair match. Thought "Big" meant Robert vs Joshua or Martin. Guess "big" was lost in the translation. But hell I'll watch if I can find it somewhere.

Neither match is decent.
Duhaupas is a journeyman. He's one of Wilder's "Bum Squad" opponents.
Thompson is old as Methuselah and slower than a snail.

You're still giving Tony's speed too much credit...Freedom2013 wrote:Thompson is old as Methuselah and slower than a snail.

Take a look at the records of Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Sonny Liston, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis....what would you call their opponents.....A boxer NEEDS to stay active and at the same time build toward a significant fight.

I assume Helenius said it was 'big' because the contest is for the vacant WBC Silver title.Tony1244 wrote:Thought "Big" meant Robert vs Joshua or Martin. Guess "big" was lost in the translation. But hell I'll watch if I can find it somewhere.
According to the WBC website though Povetkin is still listed as their 'Silver' champion. Maybe Povetkin vacated the belt and it hasn't been updated yet?

The fight is off, Rivas failed a medical examination, he reportedly has an eye problem.Escorpioza wrote:Nobody is mentioning Oscar Rivas vs Gerald Washington.. thats a match i like to see.. Rivas very talented

Fortunately the heavyweight division has been putting together a lot of interesting match ups lately.
