Not to sure what to say here, I mean he is so awful these days and in that fight especially and without them he would have been worse
Let's hope it was Marijuana to help explain it a bit more.

"I didn't know they test for Qsymia..."

"They obviously weren't performance-enhancing."

Etc etc.

What drug? Pot shouldn't be tested. The last thing Arreola needs is the munchies.

Maybe I'm stereotyping, but Chris doesn't come across as a steroid guy. More like a taco, pizza, lets have another pitcher of beer and smoke a couple joints guy. Should not be tested for that.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's weed, he fights like he is stoned at the best of times.

Just read that it was pot. Absolutely ridiculous. Probably smoked it to unwind after training.

Now we know why he's tubby. Got the munchies from too much weed.
Just what a boxer needs.....................a drug that reduces your reflexes and increases your appetite.

On the bright side boxing commissions can and will count this as cracking down on cheaters
Performance enhancing drug?
It'll increase your ability to put down doughnuts and hamburgers which will obviously give you a huge advantage in the ring.

Too bad they couldn't change the result to a close UD to Kauffman like it should have been all along.

No it should not have been.
The decision was correct.
Kauffman got beat by a stoner who probably sparked one before the fight and went to the ring with reduced reflexes and dreaming about the large pizzas he was going to wipe out later.

Yeah, but it's not performance enhancing. Too me it's no big deal; the same as taking a glass of sherry or nyquil to unwind. So if the drug isn't performance enhancing, he shouldn't be penalized for it IMO.

...........and that's why I said reduced reflexes.
Pot will calm you down but it's also going to slow you down, only idiots believe pot is a performance enhancer.

I've known a number of idiots in my day; I've never known any idiot though who believed pot was performance enhancing. To test for it for fighters is just moronic, but that's what I expect from moronic boxing officials.

So...............................isn't it really great that American boxing commission are doing pretty much nothing to discourage boxers from using Performance ENHANCING Drugs but are all over boxers who use Performance REDUCING Drugs

Gotta love it.
I think they should test for chocolate levels too.

Good.
I'm actually happy for Kauffman. Glad that he no longer has that loss on his record because IMO he won that fight.

Travis beat him a little more convincingly than Big Fred did. Kauffman and Kassi suck, but they both beat Arreola.

Taking the drug, even if it's a 'downer', is still against the Law so the commission need to be seen to do something. He is a professional athlete and hence a role model in some people's eyes.

Also the commission has a duty of care to fighters and discouraging them from entering the ring in an unfit state (I.e stoned) is more for the fighters own welfare rather than his opponents.

I agree that this is pretty ridiculous but if it was spelled out in the contract in reference to testing for the fight, what can you do? Pot shouldn't be on the list as it's slowly becoming legalized in the US, state by state. No way. BUT in this case? I thought that Kauffman won the fight so i'm good with it. Even Steven.

That's an excellent point but I still think commissions should be making a better effort at discouraging drugs that enhance performance vs performance reducing drugs.
It sounds like Arreola made no effort to avoid detection.............that guy is always going to be easy to catch.

Woohoo.........they caught somebody who wasn't hiding to begin with
All hail Texas cracking down on drugs
