Errol Christie has lung cancer
Re: Errol Christie has lung cancer
Never saw him fight. Sounds as if he had a hell of an upbringing but still seems upbeat and humble. All the best.

he was the AJ of his day as in he won everything at amateur and he was expected to go all the way,i read before that when he went to the kronk gym the sparring wars took the best out of him ,don't know if it's true .back in the 80's english fighters didn't go to america much to train like they do now it was a big deal then going to the kronk and sparring with hearns

Cancer is a son of a bitch. It upsets me now just typing this. I have a work colleague who is about 55 always been active, jogs, cycles plays golf (plays off 9) doesnt not smoke, does not drink alcohol fit a fcuk. Done fcuk all wrong in his life, held down several jobs when he was young to bring up his family, worked at John Smiths in Taddy for many years. You know last year maybe around 18 months ago got pains in his thigh, went to dr's got referred to physio had weeks of physio but didnt get rid of the pain. Had a scan and was told he had a rare form of cancer that only effects 10 people a year in the UK. It was on his spinal area. off work for 12 months, having Chemo and all that chit, came back to work but cant shift off chest infections, always ending up in hospital. Caner you are a pudendum.

Re: Errol Christie has lung cancer
Best wishes to Errol.
I used to love watching him fight & I vividly remember the build-up to his fight with Kaylor which was explosive to put it mildly; the fight wasn't too bad either!
Christie tried his hardest (he probably tried too hard if that makes sense), but he just wasn't good enought to beat Kaylor that night.
