Wilder will beat Povetkin with a style
Szpilka was all wrong for Wilder. He was a southpaw with a decent head movement.
Even Wladimir Klitschko strugled against Jennings and Fury and ask yourself why ?
Because Jennings and Fury did not go forward to his shots unlike Pulev or Povetkin.
Povetkin seems to be most overrated guy on boxingforum24.
He has no jab , no defence at all and he is coming forward shots like a robot.
Wladimir knocked him with a jab
He fought only small guys with a similiar boxing style.
Wach is a slow robotic punching bag who trhew 8 jabs per round lmao.
So do not complain about that Povetkin won against Wach.
Wilder will probably start whooping Povetkin after 3rd round.
I see Wilder winning wide UD or even late tko.
I think that Wilder is much better in late rounds.
Why there is so much hype about Povetkin?
Guys like Haye , Ortiz are much worse matchups for Wilder.
Lmao even Peter Fury does not understand about this hype about this small guy.
Peter Fury even does not rate Povetkin as a top 5 hw.
I think that Fury knows much more about boxing that those wannabie boxing experts from boxing24.

Wilder got the better natural body, but in everything else Povetkin is far superior, skills, resume, chin, everything.
Olympics, European championships, world championships, Povetkin really won just about everything he could theoretically win. Povetkin is so good, most people seem to think that Wilder will still lose, despite the advantages he got.

I am glad that you believe in this guy seeing as he does not even believe in himself. Parading around like a champ but he knows he is a fake and a fraud. He has no balls to step in with Pulev, Wlad, Fury or even Joshua or Parker. He would lose to all five of them.

Maybe Joshua and Povetkin should fight :)asdfjkl wrote:Wilder got the better natural body, but in everything else Povetkin is far superior, skills, resume, chin, everything.

Who do you think would win? :)
Re: Wilder will beat Povetkin with a style
If you ask me, my money would be on Povetkin. Joshua showed that he needs more experience in the Whyte fight. I didn't like what I saw in the Whyte fight. Makes me think his ceiling won't be as high as previously thought.foxdog1923 wrote:Maybe Joshua and Povetkin should fight :)asdfjkl wrote:Wilder got the better natural body, but in everything else Povetkin is far superior, skills, resume, chin, everything.

Povetkin will KO WIlder. It's pretty easy work. Talking up Szpilka doesn't do anything. This is the same Szpilka that got dominated and stopped by Jennings. He's a C-level fighter at best. Wilder got put on queer-street by Eric Molina.
Wilder is going to be

I think Joshua, he's the new Olympic gold medalwinner, he's younger, he's taller, he got a longer reach, once again, the only thing Povetkin has is better skills. Also note that Joshua got better skills as Deontay.foxdog1923 wrote:Maybe Joshua and Povetkin should fight :)asdfjkl wrote:Wilder got the better natural body, but in everything else Povetkin is far superior, skills, resume, chin, everything.

I can't think out much Deontay has better as AJ, stamina perhaps, but that's really it.
Re: Wilder will beat Povetkin with a style
Let's be clear.
Povetkin would be a live dog against Wider.
Deontay would have his work cut out for himself.
But, if Wilder won it would not be a huge shock.
We watched Wlad manhandle Povetkin (albeit the fact he got away with holding he should have been DQed for).
And we watched Wilder completely undress Stiverne.
Don't know if folks realize this, but Stiverne and Povetkin are similar physically and like to do some of the same things.
In other words, it isn't a huge stretch of the imagination to guess Deontay will get a wide decision versus Povetkin.
Or he will catch him with one of those hellacious shots that make his opponent
lose control of their bodily functions, as he did to Szpilka.

It's pretty obvious Wilder will not face Povetkin until the Russian is ready for a retirement home. He will ditch the WBC belt rather than face Povetkin.

Wilder is a bum, but I don't think Povetkin is soooo much better.
I don't Alexander can overcome the height difference and the power.
But Wilder is a bum.
It's 50/50 to me. However, I wouldn't bet either way.

I'd favor Povetkin by KO in either the 4th or 5th round.

Re: Wilder will beat Povetkin with a style
wilder not only has the physical tools but is very athletic and doesn't move
at all like a guy his size. talk about skills all day but unless you've actually
been in a ring with someone 5" taller with like 10" more in reach who moves
in and out and side to side much better than you, has a long hard jab, and can
knock your head off your body with one punch, it really doesn't matter what you
did in the amateurs. maybe if povetkin grew up in cuba he could have been forced
to spend his whole career as an amateur and thank fidel for that world class
healthcare system the moonbats always talk about. why do amateurs go
pro if the amateurs is the valhalla of boxing? wilder won an olympic bronze
after only a few years in the sport. maybe wilder should have spent 15 years in
the amatuers to win a better medal instead of becoming WBC heavyweight champ.
if povetkin doesn't sign, it goes to purse bids in 12 days. maybe povetkin should
finally put pen to paper? he was offered a date before and said he wasn't ready.
wbc confirmed that. there is a contract sitting there again waiting for him to sign.

You're wasting your time trying to convince these Europeans who hate Americans the facts you've posted, all they see is that they hate us and that automatically means Americans are afraid of their fighters thus will lose to them.sucracristo wrote:wilder not only has the physical tools but is very athletic and doesn't move

The only "news" Wilder fans bring up is a BS article full of quotes by Wilder's management. That's uncorroborated fluff, not "news."Badhusker wrote:Cap wrote:It's pretty obvious Wilder will not face Povetkin until the Russian is ready for a retirement home. "Deontay Wilder and mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin are in talks for a May 21st title fight at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, promoter Lou DiBella told RingTV.com on Thursday.
DiBella said he spoke with Russian promoter Andrey Ryabinski about the framework of a deal for the WBC heavyweight title fight and is waiting to hear back.
Wilder, the WBC champion, has repeatedly said he won’t vacate the title and welcomes the challenge of facing Povetkin.
“I got Alexander Povetkin lined up,” Wilder told RingTV.com earlier this month. “That’s what I know of right now. I want to get Povetkin out of the way.”
Povetkin (30-1, 22 knockouts) is the No. 2-rated heavyweight in THE RING’s ratings while Wilder (36-0, 35 KOs) sits at No. 3. Povetkin’s lone loss came against Wladimir Klitschko via a decision in 2013.
Povetkin was ringside at Barclays Center last month when Wilder crushed Artur Szpilka with a right hand to end their bout in the ninth round. WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has said that if a deal cannot be brokered in the voluntary negotiation phase between the Wilder and Povetkin camps, a purse bid will take place on Feb. 26."

Funny thing is, during the USSR time the Russians had exactly the same problem as Cuban's got, they weren't allowed to become pro either and if they did they had to offer all their money to the government.Undefeated49-0 wrote:You're wasting your time trying to convince these Europeans who hate Americans the facts you've posted, all they see is that they hate us and that automatically means Americans are afraid of their fighters thus will lose to them.sucracristo wrote:wilder not only has the physical tools but is very athletic and doesn't move

With their footballplayers at the time it was the same story, they couldn't go back to Russia any more, unless they offered all the money they earned to their country. That's also the reason why the Russians came in so strong after never competing in the sport at all.

Exactly as expected about 6 months ago, the fight indeed happens in America because Povetkin got nothing against that and the fight happens in the summer, like they said they would do 5 months ago.sucracristo wrote:http://ringtv.craveonline.com/news/4111 ... ight-in-nydempseyfire wrote:The only "news" Wilder fans bring up is a BS article full of quotes by Wilder's management. It is impossible for me to get the Wlad Vs Povetkin fight out of my head when looking at this fight. Pov was absolutely dismantled. Wilder, although crude and nowhere near as strong technically, will be quicker to the jab and perhaps have too much power.
Re: Wilder will beat Povetkin with a style
Wlad got away with a lot of holding though and I do not see Wilder fighting in that same style at all. Potvetkin may do to Wilder the same he did with Mike Perez. That would not surprise me one bit.Batley18 wrote:It is impossible for me to get the Wlad Vs Povetkin fight out of my head when looking at this fight. Pov was absolutely dismantled. A North American like you ignores all of the opponents that Wilder has fought since winning the title from a Canadian bum and dumpster fire. Why are you ignoring his opponents and the fact that he has really never fought nor beaten anyone of note? I am just stating the record and facts about this man and it drives everyone to anger. But you angry over his resume which frankly sucks! That is not my fault and Potvetkin has been the mandatory for awhile and he has avoided him. Wilder is nothing but another cowardly North American and his new name for now will be the "BRONZE CHICKEN." Because frankly that is what he is. A Southern Fried BRONZE CHICKEN who walks around with the WBC belt but will not fight the guys to defends it that would validate him as a champion. The champ should have to defend it versus the NO. 1 contender every time or give up the belt! Boxing has conditioned its' fans to settle for junk and that is what Wilder is.
