Frampton vs Quigg Undercard

There are just under five weeks until the first BIG card of the year on UK soil, and we currently only have two undercard fights (and a further two fights against TBA) announced for this card, and they are far from mind-blowing. Now that it has been confirmed as PPV will Hearn and McGuigan pull their fingers out and release a few fights that this card deserves?

I believe they will both have 4 undercard fighters each on the card; and currently we have Scott Fitzgerald and Charlie Edwards from Matchroom, and Marco McCullough and Josh Taylor from Cyclone. So who do you expect to be announced over the next few weeks?

Personally, I expect Conrad Cummings and Anthony Cacace to take up the remaining two Cyclone spot. Especially with the form of Frampton’s last few undercards, but there is surely more money available for this one.

From Hearn’s side, maybe Brian Rose, Jono Carroll, or some of Gallagher’s men – Hosea Burton or Marcus Morrison.

However, overall this would have a huge anti-climax if you compare it to the last few PPV undercards. This needs a big co-feauture but who will step up with relatively late notice?

I'm sure Burnett was originally mooted for this card, but haven't heard anything in a while.

Some of the interview I have read made it look like Josh would fight Fitzegerald.. I seen both at the commonwealth and Fitzegerald was fantastic. from what I'm hearing that's not happening. Marco Mccullough is fighting Isaac Lowe that should be a good fight.. Was hoping to see Cacacae v Ward would of been good.

The undercard will be poor it is obvious the budget for the undercard is tiny with all of the money going to the main event and the promoters know that with a venue already sold out and they hope the main event will bring in all the Ppv buys they feel they don need a good card I'm not saying that is right but that is what's going on.The promoters will be looking at there profit margins I'm afraid and could be accused of greed imo.

Yeah Burnett and was definitely meant to be on, Eddie also said Luke Campbell would be in a 'make or break' fight but now hes on the Brook card.

To be fair though I prefer fights like Lowe v McCullough rather than a big name in a walkover.

It doesn't need any real big names as such, just a few solid 50-50 fights between hungry fighters who are both there to win.
Obviously the main event ticks those boxes and then some, and Lowe vs McCullough should be entertaining but I'd like to see a couple more.

Agree definitely needs more!

My only worry is with less than 5 weeks to go anything added now isn't going to be anything but standard keep busy fights.

I firmly believe there'll be some 'names' added.

Give me 50/50 fights all night long tbh, but they do still need to sell PPVs and as good a match up as the main event is, it may not draw that many casuals without a few more names.

Its not like a standalone card like the Haye bill its a bill where they are trying to appeal to the PPV market so in my opinion there will be a few more fights added (whether they are decent or 1 sided knockovers i'm not sure), but as someone earlier in the thread said the least I expect is a few 50/50 fights similar to the Ward v McCullough.

The undercard will be terrible because the main event sold out the tickets and will sell the PPV. Neither promoter will risk one of their charges in a tough fight in order to please the fans, and Hearn will more than likely want to keep some of his names for Sky's Brook card which is destined to come in for critcism, especially when Bizzier is blown away.

On a side note, having both Lowe and Burton on the card almost guarentees the Furys will be in attendance, whether that is a good thing or a bad thing is obviously a matter of perspective.

Burton v Shinkwin is fine by me. Nice mid-range fight in terms of quality for an undercard like this. Still expecting one 'name' even if it's against a bum, plus a few more prospects.

Don't know too much about Lowe but Marco was looking impressive before that shock stoppage loss to a journeyman in Germany. Thankfully he hasn't dwelt on it and has been out twice since, winning comfortably on both occasions. Looking forward to the fight. On paper it looks a real 50/50.

Lowe on his day looks cracking. His speight performance was good.

He under-performed in his last fight for a drawer but he seems to have a couple more gears left. I fancy him to force a stoppage.
