Better opponent: Dominic Wade or Sullivan Barrera?

Post by Freedom2013 »

Wade is young and hungry at age 25.

Barrera turns 34 next week, is he already past his physical prime?

Both have similar pro records and experience, with Wade facing somewhat better pro opposition.

Both had plenty of amateur fights. Wade had a better amateur winning percentage (167-10 to 258-27 for Barrera).

I rate them even. Wade has youth but Barrera is a load. Both legit opponents, though not the ones we ultimately want to see in with SOGgy and 3G.

I do think that they both may be more competitive than most expect.

Barrera certainly poses more danger to Ward than Wade to Golovkin.

I'd say even......Wade got a gift fighting Sam Solimon who is past it, plus has knee problems. Barrera may be better but hasn't faced anyone so its hard to say. I'm okay with both match ups. GGG doesn't have a choice really, Canelo is the biggest joke in boxing as far as I can remember. 155lbs division fighting a barely top 10 147lber.

It's hard to say who is better, but both are reasonable opponents given Ward and GGGs respective positions at the moment.

All that needs to be said is that both are shockingly poor match-ups. Laughably bad. Barrera is 33 years old and has participated in 1 bout scheduled for 12. Wade has never so far stepped up in level to 12-round bouts and his being put in with the best p4p killer in the world. Boxing making an absolute laughing stock of itself again. Boycott this garbage.

I say Barrera because unlike Wade he hasn't needed a gift decision to get past a 40-something, spent-bullet with bad knees.

Come on, is this a serious question? Dominic Wade is utter bullsh*t, i'd beat him aswell. Soliman was robbed & GGG shouldn't even need three rounds. Barrera on the other hand hasn't fought anyone yet, but he's got the potential of a Top-20 fighter.

I think that 40 year old is better than anyone Barrera's fought.

People picking Wade, seriously!? Wade is absolutely terrible. He was schooled by Soliman. That was a horrible robbery. Barrera is a better opponent by miles.
