Freitas probably NOT Hatton's next opponent

Apologies if this has been done, but I for one have lost count with who's 'in' and who's 'out' of contention to be Hatton's next opponent.

Well, in the boxrec schedule Freitas is listed as fighting Raheem for the WBO lightweight title in late April. I don't know how set in stone this is, but if it is, it looks like Freitas won't be the next opponent for Hatton (and adds to the argument anyway that Freitas shouldn't really be fighting Hatton at LWW if he's comfortable at 135)

that's the fight i want the most for hatton right now. 2 weight champ and all 3 belts collected in 12 months.

All reports have indicated he's going to fight Noufel Ben Rabah next. The M'Baye court verdict may also have a say in things.

I believe there's a press conference on Thursday, so we'll find out what's going on then. Given that Mayweather, Cotto and Costillo have fights lined up, and Corralles and Gatti have injuries, I don't think we can expect any big names.

This is something I heard on the grapevine. Would be a great fight.

I belivive that it would suit Hatton to only have 3-5 more fights and then retire. So they should all be big fights - Hatton won't have a long career becaus eof his style and he doesn't need / surely can't get motivated by fights against the likes of Rabah.

that's the fight that makes sense.

a huge chance to win the welterweight title and really put him in prime position for future big fights. all the big names are planning on moving up or already have moved up.

offer baldomir big money to come to england i say. put the america thing off for a few months.

They want Baldomir but DK has got options on him and if Hatton got the fight he would have to give fuzzy head plenty of options. Do you seriously think King will just let him go away and fight Hatton.

Tackling Baldomir would be like the Maussa fight, Hatton would be adding a belt but would add little to his market value.

Baldomir is terrible. Remember how bad he was over here.

Ricky-Freitas was on but Acelino sensibly opted for the WBO title fight.

baldomir was a mandatory and not a voluntary.

I'm sure I read Baldomir say that he's free of King. I could be wrong though.

Fair enough, I didn't know it was a mandatory. I thought it was a voluntary where King would've taken options.

I don't see though how taking on Baldomir will add to his stock. If he does face him and wins like he should, what title will he give up?
