Same. I was shocked at how he lost to Mendy. Didn't look at the races at all and was bullied. I honestly thought we had a superstar on our hands. I still think he'll hit the heights of world level but it's back to the drawing board for now. Do you think he'll be looking to avenge the Mendy defeat this year or go a different route?

Is Gary Sykes in any way related to Wakefields own, Paul Sykes?

I like Gary but think he should step away. Seemed a bit punchy in his last couple of fights.. He's had a very hard career. Was very drained at Super Feather. I can see Gary beating Luke though. . Luke is not as good as everyone thinks. Gary could out work him.. Depends how much Gary has to give..

Do you not see Campbell coming back stronger from his loss? Happened to Burns earlier in his career and he came back and had great success. I see Campbell as having more natural ability than Burns tbh. One thing we learned from his loss was that he's tough enough. Maybe you're correct and he's just not as good as people thought. time will tell I suppose.

Sorry mate will have to disagree with that, I like Gary Sykes but he doesnt have the strength that Mendy has and can be KO'd when he comes forward, the only way he could beat Luke is by doing that and imo he gets beaten pretty easily.

:TU: Luke will be far bigger and Gary seems to get dropped early in every bout, if Campbell drops him he will pile in and the ref will stop it. Hope Gary's getting well paid, he seems a decent fellow and has had a good career, beaten some good fighters and proved his bravery and class. I thought he was a graphic designer as well? Hope he gets out with a few quid. Campbell seemed distracted v Mendy though he was fairly beaten if he's on his game he is too good for all but top flight boxers.

The fights been mooted a few times but didn't happen and I'm shocked the fight is happening. I can see mid - late stoppage win for luke.

There seems to be something missing. . Ricky always had that extra bit of heart I don't see that in Luke. I think problem is he is over hyped.. He might still win a World title, just not on the level of the likes of Lomachenko as Hearn seems to think. . Mendy is very average

I don't think Gary will have much to give. I was meaning more Gary at his best. The step up may help him. He will probably get stopped

never really thought much to Campbell he reminds me a bit of a scaled down david price in that he doesn't really know how to use his physical gifts and theres absolutely no fluidity to his work, probably knows enough to beat sykes at this stage but wouldn't be surprised to see him make it hard work for himself

There's not many in Lomachenko's class, he is an exceptional boxer.

Poor matchup in my opinion. Sykes was comprehensively beaten against Liam Walsh who looked like he may get him out of there at will. I can understand wanting to get Campbell back on track, and I don't think a rematch with Mendy would have been the right decision, but it would be best to put him in with a real Lightweight fighter.

Campbell wins this fairly comfortable.

I'm well and truly on the Campbell bandwagon. He has incredible natural boxing ability and a style we all thought would be suited to the pros especially his under rated body punching.

The Mendy loss was a shock especially how easy he got bullied. In my opinion it could be the wake up call needed.

Sykes is a fantastic domestic fighter and always comes to win. Good matchmaking by Matchroom for a comeback fight. A opponent who comes to win but shouldn't have the bullying qualitys of Mendy.

I'd have liked to have seen him rematch Mendy, i think he would win a return quite handily. Fighting Sykes at this point isn't really worth the time, would have been better off matching up for the British against Cardle.

If there's a decent size Matchroom card in the summer hopefully he tries to avenge the Mendy defeat. Agree Cardle would be a good little fight. Both will know each other well from the amateurs.

Disappointed with Luke last time out, but still think Mendy was a a bit too much of a jump in class considering Campbell's best win was against Coyle.

Don't mind this fight, Campbell has a new trainer so I would expect him to have a fight like this while they get to know eachother before targeting the Lonsdale belt or a possible rematch with Mendy.
